Default EOI Willwood BBK possible group buy (WA only)

Hi have just been in contact with the guys at 2j racing in the states wrt the willwood brake upgrade as it seems reasonably priced compared to the rest, and works out cheaper buying from them as opposed to willwood it self

And they fit behind the factory wheels

The kit they have just offered is the 6 pot Red caliper kit with black hat 2 piece drilled and slotted rotors, stainless steel brake lines to suit and the BP-20 pad kit

Normally retail us $1108.98 + us $277 postage
Have been offered this kit for us$999 + postage saving us$110
Group of 3 reduces price to us$ 899 + postage

Just gauging EOI atm
Regards, shane

Out of interest, did you have anyone message you keen on getting these?

I went in on a group buy on one of the US forums late last year and couldn't be happier with the brakes. Stopping distance is soooo much shorter than stock and the feel is greatly improved as well...

No, no rea interest, but the $ started dying about the same time, will see how the $ goes, I think it is a pretty good price for direct bolt on kit

Good point on the dollar situation. That hurts everything we do with these cars, but the Wilwoods still represent the best value on the market; anything out of Europe at the time I did this was at least double the asking rate... so I guess one could say I'm happy having gone this way when I did!

FYI, I ended up ordering my kit from Wilwood Singapore.
I track my car roughly once a month and wanted to spec the kit more to my liking and they were more than willing to customize the kit.

Hi Lukits 01,

I ran into you at a sushi bar in Beeliar a couple of weeks ago and asked you about your Willwoods. Not sure if you remember?

I see your car around near were I work.

Thought I would say hi!

Much price difference between the U.S. and Singapore ?

Would like to get the complete front and rear, but I just can't justify spending the same amount for the rear kit as the front, the way I see it the front is either way under priced or the rear is way over as the caliper cost difference should be quite substantial

Don't bother with the rear. In partaking in the US forum's group buy, I said I'd like front and rear, and in numerous e-mails and even a phone call, it was never mentioned that the rear kits don't fit the ST because they're designed as a replacement for drum-fitted models...

So I need to chase up 2JR and try to return some rear brakes. I only really wanted them for looks, because serving trays on the front with saucers on the rear looks a little odd. In any case, though, rears aren't needed...

Not sure it's really comparable, I didn't opt for the the 'off-the-shelve' kit.
Changed to smaller pistons to keep the factory brake balance.
Changed to blank rotors (slotted/drilled rotors tend to crack more easily)
Changed pads to the Polymatrix-E compound.
Don't forget you need the braided lines as they are an extra charge, the kit will not fit with factory lines (ask me how I know )
Oh, also included 2xMotul RBF600 brake fluids
Total delivered at the time was around AU$1.5k
But exchange rate has gotten much worst since then.
