i know this clip , and i tell you ford just arent in holdens league with selling cars , or marketing them . holden get this , we get giant fingers walking over a mountain, which would market LSD ( AN ACID TRIP) more so than a falcon .

they simply better up thier marketing game with the fg mkii , with its new engines etc , otherwise they may as well give it away .

So we can watch it blow up its gearbox?

More seriously though, the Mal Rose R35 GT-R (which DNF'd) at the Bathurst 12 Hour this year did a fastest lap of 2:26.1198.

The Nathan Tinkler/Steven Johnson FG GT (5.4L BOSS Engine) did a fastest lap of 2:40.6970.

Would be interesting to see how a properly setup (under CAMs production car rules) Current model FPV GT would go around the mountain.

Hi guys, I am in the States, Ford should send their marketing team here, and see how cars are advertised. America doesn't have Scruby to stop them. Honda Accura drifting into a space between two Accuras. Ford ads all about their trucks and what they can do. I am driving a Chevy Impala LT, handles, drives and quite comfortable..$24990 drive away !!! Has the Holden 3.6 V6. We knock the Taurus..makes the Falcon look small and slim. It has a "boxy" appearance, looks okay to me. Will try and get into a Ford dealer. Petrol here, is around $3.99 a gallon, the US gallon is smaller than ours. But still works out to about 85c a litre. Off to Vegas tomorrow!!!!
Photo's won't download..try Photobucket later.

Lucky man!!

I've started noticing a lot of Focus adverts around at the moment so Ford are doing something right. They had the US head of marketing over here a year or 2 ago so i think her ideas are starting to trickle down into the public

In Australia we have Nany rules which say cars in advertisements cannot be drifting, racing, smoking, going faster than 30kmh, and generally doing anything that’s seen as hooning behaviour … does not leave a lot of room for ideas does it?

Also we cannot make references to competitors or say anything politically incorrect.

The recent mercedes c-class ads were some of the only recent car Ads I actually liked as thought were effective. Go back to AU-BF advertising, falcons were marketed properly for what they are. These days, Fords AND Holdens (as far as sedans go) are pushed as family-friendly, sedate and boring. I've no problem with family-friendliness, but I do when it degrades what Falcons can actually do. And clearly a minimalist approach to Falcon advertising has failed so far...

I think a very smart looking car.

I was always a bit iffy over the look of the FG but the series 2 tips me over into liking it.

I have to agree with most on here that the XR6 looks mighty fine. And they have improve the XT abit. The G-Series may have gone a little backwards though. In looks only.

Why, if Ford refuse to do it, have no aftermarket companies brought out LED taillights for the FG? There isn't even an altezza option...

Why don't Ford AUS get more imaginative with their taillight designs. Haven't they got tired of the horizontal red/white stripe that they've had since EF. They should play around with vertical pattern ala Mustang

I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of content detailing the update on ford.com.au. I mean the "New Ranger" has been there for around six months with constant updates. The same thing goes for Territory and Focus updates.

I know there's a bit of time until the launch but you'd think they'd want to build up some sort of anticipation for the new model. The BA launch was a prime example of what Ford can do when they put some effort into it. Obviously it’s only a Mk II but this model is pivotal in increasing Market Share and increasing local production to sustainable levels.
