Some oxidization by the looks of it. Worth the time and effort considering. Looks like you have gotten most of the oxidization out with the wool pad. A foam pad and some decent swirl remover and sealant will make this car come up a treat.

Easiest way to check is look under at the rear suspension. Ghia = IRS, NonGhia = Watts Link

Interior needs a few little bits here and there, has a little bit of rust in the usual places, needs suspension repairs and redo the brakes.

easiest way to check generally is look if you have leather seats, and chrome handles/shifter button & surround, premo sound etc. Being a S3 the Ghia comes with a fully electric and memory drivers seat also.

You sure did! When i was looking for my car, I saw a couple of Fairmont V8s, one with more kays, a few dints in the body and a very shady service history for 7k firm. The other was asking for 10k! Wasn't able to find any decent V8 under my 6k budget, so i settled for my 4.0L near-minter instead for 5k. Plus, i guess i wanted the better fuel economy (or so i told myself to get over the disappointment of not owning my first V8).

Ridiculous to think i could've bought two of your gf's car for the price i paid for mine. Bargain of the century, mate!
