I think the Trend here will be mid 50's and the Titanium mid 60's. I was going to wait for one but bought a Mondeo Titanium demo for nearly half.

Did I hear right that the Endura will kick off at just below $50K?
If so, I wonder if sales numbers will be similar to Everest (~500/mth?)

How many model specs?
Territory Titanium diesel awd was around $56K but came standard as 7 seater.
TX 5 seater AWD diesel $45 iirc.

I think we need to move on from comparing prices to cars not available anymore...
the top of the line competition according to carsales:
Kluger Grande (7 seats & Petrol) $68990 drive away
Santa fe Highlander (7 seat & Diesel) $67718 drive away
Sorento (7 seat & Diesel) $66990 drive away
CX9 Azami (7 seat & petrol) $74261 drive away
Grand Cherokee (limited) (5 seat diesel) $71845 drive away

i didn't put the top of line jeep in there as they are higher spec, but you get the picture

And that's fair enough too considering the Endura will have a suite of safety tech and features never available on any locally built Ford, from 8 speed auto to heated seats to AEB etc...

For those wanting to see what 2019 model looks like in RHD here is a link to Ford UK Edge St-Line
https://www.ford.co.uk/cars/new-edge...avCategory=suv

imho..Thank you so much for having a Ford NA designed dash...

Fair call.

It's not going to compete in the space that the Territory did.

Well the Territory did compete against these but has always been better Value. & a better drive IMO.
I believe if there were a 2018 Territory it would also have been hit with a price increase just to keep up with the competition feature wise.

look at how far the Sorento has come, not a bad looking thing in 2018

but do you really think it's going to go head to head with those cars? it's a middle of the road 5-seater. much more aligned with CX8, Sorrento or Tucson

I think you need to look up your small & Mid SUV's

CX8 & Sorento are 7 seaters.

Tucson is CX5, sportage & escape sized.

you are right. I have no real interest in SUV of any size

where does Endura fit? really? it's bigger than escape, smaller than Everest and only has 5 seats. It doesn't seem to sit in either the VFACTS medium or large SUV segment

yes there's much more to consider when purchasing an SUV than what segment its in or how many seats it has

but it would be in Large SUV segment.

note Jeep Grand Cherokee is 5 Seater only too but Nissan qashqai is a 7 seater and its tiny.

Ford model names are made more interesting if you add the word anal in front of them. Probe, explorer, fiesta, ranger...

So Australia is getting the single turbo Endura? No bi-turbo? Maybe it will at least make the bi-turbo look fast......er. Looks like we just have to get used to slow cars from Ford, and find another manufacturer if we prefer more power/performance. Upcoming Mazda CX-5 looks nice with a 2.5t petrol...

Engine responds very well to mods, but auto gearbox can become unsettled trying to cope with the extra torque. Good fuel economy overall: 9-12L/100km city, 8L/100 country.

cx-5 is Ford Escape size, which incidentally has a turbo petrol option (2L ecoboost) available right now.

And the Ecoboost is very good, I've driven both current diesel and petrol AWD Escapes back to back and would buy the petrol just because of the smoother torque converter auto and greater acceleration alone.

Here is a quick comparison of the (base) Endura against the VFACTs competition. I'm a bit surprised it's classified as a Medium SUV given the wheelbase but that's where it currently is expected to sit.

Cheers

... and a similar comparison for the Titanium which is 'supposed' to compete with the upmarket Euro SUV's.

Sorry about the size but there's a lot of competition and this doesn't even include those manufacturer models where there is no diesel choice.

Cheers

I don't quite agree with it being a medium suv. That's escape territory.

What defines where it sits? Can't be engine size. Is it wheelbase? Or overall size?

That's a great chart but it would be interesting to see how it stacks up against the next segment.

Well Vfacts have got that all wrong, perhaps that why Ford Australia are happy with the Power plant supplied.
It beats all of those on weight and dimensions, especially cargo space!
and consequently shares the highest fuel consumption

Endura is 106mm shorter than Territory, but slightly wider and higher. Its definitely not the same class as Tucson etc. My folks recently bought a new Tucson and my Territory is noticeably bigger in height and width, and Endura is slightly bigger again.
