Default Drive control Mondeo MD Titanium

Hi all
I was wondering if anyone has played around with the drive control settings on the car.

The implementation of this mode is just ridiculous.
When I set to Sport mode and select Drive (D) the display indicates that the Drive control is in Sport mode with a fancy red curve around the Speedo and Tacho. Nice!
But when I shift the Transmission to S the display disappears. Even though Sport is still selected in Drive control. So when I have S selected I don’t know what Drive control is set. It makes more sense to have these independently selectable for each transmission mode and displayed accordingly. That way I wouldn’t have to adjust it ever and it would behave in a logical fashion. In D it would be normal mode and when I shift to S it would be sport and match the transmission setting. Selecting it whilst driving is again dangerous as you have to dive into the menus and having to pull over just to select a Drive mode when it could be easily selected with the Transmission is again ridiculous.
Does yours behave in the same fashion or is mine faulty?

Cheers
Mark

This refers to the Adaptive Suspension...
The transmission just has a Drive Mode / Sport Mode.

Yes I understand what it does. I guess what I was asking is when I turn the drive to sport or comfort it displays either a red or blue flash/line around the speedo and tacho when I shift the transmission to S it disappears. Even if I select sport or comfort whilst in S it still doesn't show up in the display like it does in D.
Does yours work in the same way?

Does your car have Sync 2 or Sync 3? Can you take some pictures to show us what you're trying to say?

I tried to switch my car to Sport mode (for the first time) but there was no red line around the speedometer or tachometer. I wonder if it's a new Sync 3 feature.

Sync3 or MY17 update only...

Different features on the gauge cluster.

Sport Mode is Red and Comfort is Blue. Normal is well...normal!

Best feature is Digital Speedo!

Damn, that would look awesome. Wish I had waited for Sync 3!

As ope126 indicated I have Sync 3 MY17 update.

How do you attach pictures?

Cheers

I'm reasonable computer literate and I can't post images either.

Maybe it's my policy of using adblock plus?

Thanks for sharing those pics, mine does the same blue for comfort and red for sport - I just hadn't tried it until you suggested it.

You can definitely tell the difference in sport mode, it seems to do more than just hold each gear for an extra 500rpm - the acceleration seems much snappier too.

It's hard to measure what is exactly happening, and what happens when you put the drive selector into sport as well... and why would it turn "off" the sports drive mode when the gear selector is moved to S?

Lots of playing ahead... would be great to find an article from someone who has done the analysis of what the three driver modes actually change, and what S does too.

My thoughts are that you could set the drive control differently for each of the Transmission modes. Ie sport when the transmission is in S and normal when the Transmission is in D. That way it would be easy to switch between the two modes and then the transmission would match the suspension settings with just a flick of the wrist. Diving into the menus whilst in motion is a little dangerous.

On mine the red or blue lines disappear completely when I select S even though I go into the setting and check that it is still selected.
Does yours perform in the same fashion?

Yes, the red lines disappear when I move the selector to S or R too actually!

OK so its not just mine then.

The ride definitely firms up when you select Sport in the drive control menu.
Maybe when you select S in the transmission it automatically selects the sport mode in drive control.
I had thought that it didn't. I will have to experiment again and report back.
