Default Tickford Suspension Option

Can someone enlighten me about what was included on the Tickford Suspension option, particularly for the wagon?
My understanding is the following:
Lowered King springs front and rear – I presume a 30mm drop.
Monroe GT Gas Shocks all round.
Nolathane bushes at the front.
Was there a larger 27mm anti-roll bar at the front? Or did the 24mm bar remain?
No rear anti-roll bar?
What about an LSD?
Body side skirts, I presume.
Tickford 17 x 8 alloy wheels
Anything else?
Was this only available on the V8 wagons and not the 6s?
Were all cars optioned at the factory, or could dealers fit it too?
Did all cars with this option have a Tickford plate?

While I’m on the subject of modified wagons. What should the standard ride height be at the rear? When unladen my wagon sits extremely high, about 50-60mm, whereas the front is quite low. Someone told me that my rear springs have been reset, and maybe my front springs have sagged somewhat…

AU1, 2 or 3? Forte, Futura or Fairmont?

From dim dark memory;

Larger front anti roll bar
Rear anti roll bar
LSD optional, manditory fit for V8 option
Skirts not packaged with Sports Suspension option, though were a std fit on S3
Tickford 17 x 8 rims
was available on 6 & 8
Could be fitted at dealer, but would not get a Tickford plate
Tickford plate only if Factory fit

Note also that as the Sport Suspension and 17 x 8 Wheel options were manditorily paired by Ford there was some variation with notation on the Tickford Plate - could be listed as 17" Alloy Wheels, or Sports Suspension, or sometimes both - depended on what option/s were listed by the dealer on order.

Thanks for this Jimmyd.

For the record I have an AUII Fairmont wagon. I've seen a few V8s (Fairmonts only) on Carsales that have the Tickford Suspension and wheels - a rare bird I believe.

Did the wagons have a rear anti-roll bar? Or is that only fitted to the sedans?

From memory yes, wagon got a rear bar, but one of the wagon aficionados may prove my memory wrong...

As far as I know, there is NO Tickford wagon. The only tickfords are the TE50, TS50 and TL50. There is no listing for any parts for a wagon tickford.

As far as I know the Tickford suspension, 17" wheels, and body kit was offered on Series One wagons only. It was available on 6s and 8s but I think only on Fairmonts.

Out of idle curiosity, and to suppliment my failing memory, I took a stroll over to the Brochures section of this site (great resource by the way) - while there are no specs for the S1 you can see quite clearly Tickford Suspension and wheels options were available for Forte and Futura wagons for S1.5 and S2; for S3 a Ford Sports suspension option (not a Tickford Option) was listed but Tickford wheels were. Both Tickford Suspension and wheels were available for Fairmont wagon for S1.5, 2 & 3.

No Tickford body kit option was listed for any series wagon.

Now of course these are the official retail brocures, nothing to say off brochure special orders did not occur.

Don't put too much store on what you read in Ford brochures. They are reknowned for being full of errors.

Thanks Jimmyd for alerting me to the Brochures section.

Now that we know that the Tickford Suspension was available on the AUII Fairmont wagon, can anyone actually confirm what it comprises of?

Am I correct in saying that no leaf sprung AU (or anything beyond) wagon or ute ever had a rear anti-roll bar as standard or as part of suspension option?

My Series 2 and a friends series 3 had Factory plated tickford options.

I know, just used them to confirm faded memory - I used to sell AUs when new.

The LSD was compulsary in series 1 V8 only, series 2 and 3 got traction control and a sloppy diff
