Post Blue GT strip with those black door bumpers!

Im getting blue gt strips on my 99 Forte! On the doors it has those black door bumpers so if u open ur door and hit something it usally proctects it if it's low enough lol! Should i take them off and paint them the same colour as the car which is white or should i just leave them black or should i just take them of completley?

Cheers

Seeing that you have made the decision to add tacky stripes to your car, why not make the decision on the black strip too? Body coloured looks good, and the black will look silly with the blue stripes, but then the blue stripes will look silly (IMO) on a forte anyway, so what does it matter?

I'd paint the black door bump white. That would look best.

hmm hmm , GT stripes on a forte !!! ...c'mon now ! ..lol .. adding spoilers/wings and so forth is all good and fair, but i think you would get laughed at silly with gt stripes on a forte, if you want a bit of extra color maybe just add some thinner normal different color pin-stripe. But thats just my opinion , if you want GT stripes then go ahead ( but will probably be the laughing stock of the parade !).

I've seen a couple of AU's around with stripes, IMO it doesn't look good.

Tis your car, it's your choice I guess.

Talking Hmmm....

I don't know, has anyone seen it done b4? I don't think it will look that bad! Rear spoiler, mags, tinted windows it would look good! No one liked the AU shape and look there is 50+ of us going to a bbq day! It's grown on us!

Post Diffrent look!

XR6-VCT-2000, you wanted a diffrent look didn't you? Did you pull of the badges and pulled of the side bumpers on the doors! I know it's my car and i can do what i want! But if it doesn't look good then i can just pull them off can't i!

Cheers

Yeah for sure mate ;) - but removing parts all together from a car - compared to adding things that aren't original / especially gt stripes - its an entirelly different thing.
If you want them then go ahead ;) - its just that if most people see GT stripes they expect to see them on a GT , not a forte ! . It was such a unique thing the GT stripe that only came out on GT's . Entirely up to you though

If you like it, do it. Don't listen to the knockers. If it makes you happy, do it

I'm going stripes on mine.

I had orange stripes on my AU1 XR6 ute and they looked good. I only took them off because of an accident with a BMW and the panel shop wouldn't replace them (non genuine).

So if you like stripes then put them on and f$%ck what others say or think.

Your car, your money, you drive it not the knockers.

I used to work with a guy that had grey stripes on this AU2 XR , didnt look to bad IMO.

If you like them , go for it but prepare to be laughed at by some people who think its rice.

I would never do it to my AU , maby if i had a BA that would be another story,

Id paint the protector thingies white, and go for the stripes. Why have a car that looks the same as everyone elses? I want to put a shaker on the Monty, but everyone keeps flaming me, but Im going to do it just to be different.

Def agree with doing this. Its a good first move.

As for the stripes.....maybe. The blue stripes on a white car combo is a personal favourite for me so it might look good. I guess you can always rip them off.

Why does the mention of stripes bring up that old done to death debate? Why can people not give an opinion without taking the moral high ground? It is his car, his taste and he did not ask the ethics of the stripes, just what to do with the protector strips. Lets just face one fact, some are for stripes, some are against and that will never change. This debate is so old, let it die.
My opinion, you want the stripes, go for it but just make sure the car is dropped in height etc. As for the strips on the doors, at least colour code but removal is better. I thought of removing mine on my BA but there are locator holes I would have to get filled.
