Hi, My name is Brij and I havea ford territory. Reading from the posts it seems that I have a broken ignition switch.
There seems to be posts regarding how to fix it.
Apparently there are detailed pics as well. Can someone point me in th eright direction please.

G'day guys, been using forums to learn since I bought my Fairmont in May last year.
None have been as helpful as these so I figured that I would start being more active here, ask for advice when I need some, and help out where I can.

I'm only 18 and have only started working on cars when I got my Fairmont, so I've still got a lot to learn, but I can give some amateur advice every now and then, so if anyone wants any input, especially EF-EL, just ask.
I'm from the Eastern Melbourne suburbs and I'm working on 2 EF's, a 1994 EF (I) Falcon, and my baby a 1996 EF (II) Fairmont Ghia.

Hi All, I'm a newbie and this seems like the place to be if you own a Ford. I've had a few of them in the past. The wife just bought a BF Wagon a few weeks ago and it looks like I'm the caretaker / mechanic.

G'day youse all, Obviously my first time, couldn't work out how to actually add something. I'm a middle aged Ford nut that cops a fair bit (but give more & better than I get) from the Red camp. I've got a matching no's XA GS ute (351/TL/9in), tidy & been doing bits & pieces to it over more than 20yrs. Cheers for now....XA8

Hello all,
I've been a member of the forum for quite a while but have never taken the time to lodge a post. I guess I should start by introducing myself. I started my like with fords in a 1970 Cortina GT. It was diamond white with gold stripes and driving lights. I kept it original for a while and then got an opportunity to put a decent engine into it. The engine was originally out of a 1968 GT, pre-crossflow. I bought it after it had been removed from an Anglia ute drag car. It had posted 13.1's at Castlereigh drag strip (showing my age !!) and was still really fresh as it had only been run the one time. It was using 13 x 13 road race tyres on the rear and lit them up for most of the the run. Once I had the engine I changed the cam to something more suited to the road and had it dynoed by the original engine builder.
The engine was fitted with 45 mm Webers and really pushed the Cortina along.

When I got married I sold the GT for some much needed cash and bought a 65 Mark 1 that had the rear smashed in when the handbrake let go and the car rolled backwards into a brick fence. I bought another Mk1 that was very rusty up front and did the old "cut and shut". It even passed over the pits for registration. I kept the hot engine from the GT and installed it into the new ride. It was quite a handful in the standard chassis and a real sleeper at the traffic lights; surprised lots of people in that car.

That was how I got into Fords and I've kept my interest ever since. I currently have a 2000 AU11 XR6 VCT and two Buckles (Zephyr powered Australian sports coupes build at Punchbowl by Bill Buckle of Toyota fame). I love the XR but don't drive it as much as I used to. A little too much temptation on roads litterred with radar traps and lousy drivers.

I enjoy working on cars when the time's available. I hate having to work in a rush, especially just to keep a car on the road for daily driving. I have a very well equipped workshop and hope to commission my hoist in the coming months. It's an old Formula two poster and I'm diverting the cables below floor level so that I can roll equipment around my workshop without having to deal with the big hump covering the cables.

I'm always tinkering with something and love to build new stuff. As well as the car gear I have a nice machine shop and lots of welding gear including a high end Miller TIG.

I'm presently helping a friend with a very hot Bolwell Nagari get it ready for registration. It's a big job as it was originally build up as a show car without much attention to registration requirements. We hope to have it on the road in around 6 months.

I'm pretty impressed with the forum and hope to spend a bit more time browsing through the posts.

Well that's a little about me.

Hi fellow enthusiasts.

I have been involved in the race preparation for a Ford BDA Escort.

Mostly I did the electrics, with a bit of mechanical work as well.

It is hard to believe how well these little 1600, now 2 litres engines can run!

There is nothing quite like the howl of these engines!!!

Cheers
Mike

G'day, all. Never contributed before, but have done a spot of reading. I have a 1965 Ford Zodiac, and am a Life Member of the Zephyr and Zodiac Owners Club of Melbourne.
I also own a 2005 TX SX Territory, which has done just over 153000 ks. I am now wondering when things might start to go wrong with it.
Robin.

G'Day All... Have been a member for a while but have never posted.

Current ride is 2010 FG XR6 Turbo purchased new. Silhouette colour, 20in Knight Riders and a few mods under the hood (that I keep to myself).

Have been a Ford driver from day 1 and have owned everything from XR and XY to Capri, Cortina and Escort to XB GS, XA GT, XE and my current XR6T.

Thanks for a great site with loads of info that I have used when I commenced the mods on my baby.

Cheers

Hi, Todd here from New Zealand.

Im a hot rodder who went low level drag racing in a too heavy T bucket. Currently, its all street legal with a 851hp blown 540 cube Chev but isnt a very nice street car anymore. The blown 454 made 627 hp and had way nicer street manners.

So Im looking to replace the engine (and put the bucket motor into an altered after fitting a bigger blower to it)

I have amongst my stuff, a SVT 4.6 quad cam Ford engine that has been rebuilt. Physically, its not that much smaller than the BBC so I reckon it will look great in place of the Chev. I found a dude in the USA with a manifold to fit a 671 blower, and he was happy to sell it to me, but then he decided to keep it.

I want to fit a 671 (or my spare B&M 420 megablower) primarily for the looks. I dont want to use one of the smaller and more efficient modern blowers, like Ford fit to some of them because I like the old GM blower look.

I have put up a pikky of the bucket as it is now. the 4.6 engine is sitting on an engine stand waiting for me to make some decisions.

Hi all you Ford Nuts
I'm actually an old fart from Chrysler days, wanting to unload my sons 94 Auto XG XR8 Herrod Engineered Ute
The car is straight, had 2 previous owners, and has not been on the road for 5 years
It's only done 160k, fitted with unmarked Simmonds 18" wheels, 9" rear and 8" front
Colour is blue and Duco in good nick and no panel damage
Also fitted with Tow Bar and unmarked Tub Liner and new front tyres,
This is the perfect start for one of you young bucks to tidy up and do some bragging
Look forward to getting some feedback

G'day, thanks for the welcome.
I have a 1998 EL Falcon, had an overheat incident, which has resulted in a blown head gasket. Last time I changed a head gasket was in the late '60's on a Customline of all things which indicates (a) what age I might be, (b) how things have changed, and (c) because I have never worked in the industry, my knowledge and abilities of todays vehicles are less than useless.
I am now an aged pensioner, can't afford 'Garage Prices' for the full job and am looking for someone who can help get this job done. I have the appropriate kit, including head bolts, but would appreciate a more professional approach to get this job done. Anyone who can help in the Langwarrin/Frankston area is welcome to ring me on 0412 350 006.
BTW, it still runs well so long as I don't get caught up in an idling situation....that results in the temp rising dramatically.

Welcome to all new members and members who registered a little while back and were perhaps a little shy to say anything. Some really great introductions here and I look forward to reading more on your rides.

Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourselves. Now you have made your first post, keep going. It is the members, like yourselves, who make the forum.

Cheers
