Hi Guys, just brought some ST170 clear indicators to fit to my better halfs focus. Any ideas how you remove the old ones??

To put it very plainly those side lights are total bastards to get off. If you read that you pull them forward and they come off, ignore it because they dont.

What i did was get 2 old credit cards (old cos once your done they wont work anymore) because they are soft and wont rip the crap out of your paint work, but you still have to be careful. I used the 2 cards as leverage to rotate the lights out, and also to protect my paint work when rotating them around. Yes thats right, they rotate ford, not pull forward!

But for fudge's sake be friggin careful when you take out the old ones, they do require a bit of force but not heaps.

Question

Those lights look way madder than the orange - how much do they set you back and where can you get them from? like autobarn or something?

You get them from your friendly local Ford Dealer. They are the clear indicators that are standard on a Ford Focus ST170. They aren't very expensive ($10-$12 ????). The globes cost more than the indicators.

As Melbzetec states you can get them from any ford dealer and they come from the ST170. I can post up some pics this afternoon of what they look like.
Bugger of a thing to fit, you have to take the inner guard lining off to unclip them. More time consuming if anything :1syellow1

They are not all that easy... especially if the car had paint protection or has ever had a good polish in its life.

Some are real pains in the bottom to get out.

Ok what happens if you dont own 2 old credit cards. Or if you don't even own a credit card. Your buggered. But I used a flathead screwdriver and a soft cloth not to scratch the paint.

Use 2 old CDs. thats what i did, no scratches and they make it easier to get out cos they're stiffer.

Well, here's what they look like. I'll take some pics tomorrow night of the whole car, was getting dark by the time I could be bothered going outside to take them...

Inner guard lining? Hell no.

Car looks ssensational though! Just love a silver Mk I Focus, sharpest colour of them all.
