Definately not a fan... doesn't look like it's got the extra cab space like the Falcon ute either.

Can't believe it just got flogged on channel 10 news... :(

The rear is just terrible: . The front i dont mind anymore as im used to it now so thats alright. But overall it looks kinda 'awkward' if thats the right word. Dont really like it, VZ ute is much better looking...

Hahaha couple of quotes from the holden forums about the VE Ute 'terri' (tail) lights:
"I actually dont mind the rear light design its different which is good."
"Damn hot... Tail lights look great too."

As you'd expect the reaction is the exact opposite of here, everything that is a con here is a pro there. But to be fair vice versa happens here too.

I like it, and it will be a big hit with the apprentice tradies. Holden have stated before their target market is the youg metrosexual male, not the actual tradie who uses their ute for work.

Im not a real fan of the rear end, but time may change my opinion.
Dual exhausts on the pov pak looks out of place compared to the rest of the car.
It doesn't look like it has as much room inside as the Supercabs. The company which i work for doesn't buy commo utes because there isn't enough room inside to put all the drivers paperwork and other junk, and also coz they get the Falcons cheaper.

Cheers.

Do they have a colour coded hard lid? It might make the rear look half decent

Well I wasnt very impressed when I saw these pics online, but having just seen it on the news it doesnt look all that bad I reckon. Have to see it in person before making judgement on it though.

short & sweet!

It reminds me of one of those subaru brumby utes for some reason, must be the back of it! seems very short in the tray area.

I think it reminds me of the Jumbuck utes that Pedders here in Melb use as delivery vehicles, the thing looks like !

BINGO!!
holden dont build REAL utes anymore, and havent done for a looooong time. theyre just tarted up 2 door sedans with a short roof and a big boot.
ford arent quite in that league yet, but not far off.
commodore utes always have been, and always will be for the 'look at me in my shiny ute' crowd, and built from cut down wagons.
falcons were a proper work ute once upon a time (like the pre WB holdens were too), but have gone done the 'fancy ute' road and scarifised some the proper point of utes in the 1st place... work.
but at least they can hack more than a commodore.

utes are meant for work, 1st and foremost, and its now a case of if you want a proper work ute, you buy a hilux/navara/triton. something that will cop a load of stuff in the back and not kill itself.

my VE opinion... no thanks.
the badge is a big enuf turn-off.

It could probably look half decent if the offered a tray, as it is the back half that looks terribly wrong.

Shoulda heard them on the news tonight, 'the all aussie icon', my . SS will prob look good in the flesha as long as u don't look at the tray back. Lol at the base model with huge flares and small steelies. Despite this and their lack of balls as a trade ute, they will sell well.
