Default mk1 4 door club car

[SIZE=3]Hi I am 15 years old and I am building a mk1 4 door race car up

It has
- 1600 711m engine
- twim 40mm dellorto's
- extractors
- and the head is being worked

Just wondering what is the best cam to get for racing and would I need to get double valve springs?

I am in tassie so if you know of anywhere cheap please let me know/

And also could you clarify that there were only 3 v4 capri's imported to Australia because we have got one and not sure about the history.

Thanks

Lachlan Thomas

crow cams dont have much variety better off going to the wade cams website or the crane cams website. crane cams are more costly but but good service and wade cams are cheap and good power. both me and my bro (who is a mechanic) have both had problems with crowcams. hope i helped

Thanks for the advice.

I have two mk1 escorts, the club car and a two door mk1. We were given a bunch a crap 4 door. i pulled the head off and it turns out that it is a 1300gt head. My msn is lachy__alexander@hotmail.com. I am not always on though. What are the escorts like that you Have??

I have heard that crow cams are pretty good and that wade cams are good. I will check out all of the products.

dont even bother with a 1600, get a 2lt buddy. i got rid of myne out of the mk1 and put a 2lt in, best thing i ever did. i only have a standard head, a lightened flywheel & a very mild cam and i am ting all over these lil vp, vr & vs commodore fags.

yeh but for club cars it better to keep the 1600 as he is a different class and the little 1600's can go really hard when build proply and on some cams can rev up 9500 rpm so for racin its better to keep in the lower class

yeah, i don't really have the money, we have spare two litres but we have spent most time on the head like, reseating it, re facing valves, refacing the head and other mods. Its been flow tested and I don't really want to reshape the ports on a 2 litre ( get most power by doing that to the head). Yeah i will stick with the 1600 for a while and might move to a 2 litre in the futrue.
