A fellow club member is selling his 1972 Lime Glaze GT V6. I think he wants $12,500 for it. Looks very presentable. Car is in Geelong. Owners name is Max. You can contact him at nh378246@bigpond.net.au

If you can't contact him thru there, drop me a line at maxrnb70@hotmail.com and I'll pass on your details.
Cheers Glenn

Hate to say, but you are going to struggle to find one if you think Max's car wasn't up to scratch. There are very few in the club better that haven't had 10-15 grand spent on them. I've had Capris for 13 years and the best one I've come across in that time, I bought on the spot. It ain't perfect, it still owes me about $7,500, but it would take $10,000+ to get me to even consider selling it.
Maybe if I could get hold of that Perana on Ebay, I'd sell you mine.

I am willing to pay over $10,000 for the right car but it must be A1 and original matching numbers and paint color. Max's car was very nice and had neat interior and straight panels but if you look at the paint it has bubbles the size of 50cent pices all over the car. Something has gone wrong when it was repainted. Also a big bubble in the driver 1/4 sill which i suspect is rust. Also its not the original plated color which de-values it. I would have to repaint it to make me happy.

That perana would be great but ithink its a bit out of my price range. he wants over $20,000 for it. and it also needs body work and paint.

Please keep an eye out for me as i would like to join the Capri club once i get one.

Thanks agian,
Tom,

I think $20,000 would be a bargain for that Perana. Body work can be fixed. Cars like this just don't come up for sale and are worth paying more than what they should (realistically) be worth.
As for Max's car.....Well, we knew it needed work and the price he wants is optimistic, but on the current prices, that what you are going to get for $10,000. Original V6's, let alone matching number and original paint cars are very rare, mainly because the factory colours were krap and that side rib was prone to scrapes. My car has been repainted, but I'd like to think that dosen't reflects too much on its value. Have you seen Yukon Yellow? I'd want money off for that paint scheme. :

When i say original colour i mean the same colour as it was when new. Not "it was green and is now blue". Is yukon yellow like yellow ochre? I would prefer a car that has bee painted recently as most with original paint are just about had it. It has to be done properly though. Not just a cheap spray over the top job.

Well, mine is up for sale now, but it wont interest you.
Just spoke with John Roberts (club parts officer) and he said Ken Jones still has his low milage, auto for sale. He wants around $12,000. Might be worth checking out. I don't have Ken's number but if you give JR a call, he should point you in the right direction. 0409 091 252
