Article with way more interior pics. That first one posted looks awful but after seeing these I'm a fan. I wouldn't go for the cream option though.

I know that (Springvale is Vietnamese though if you want to be specific ), but I was trying to understand the relevance of the comment.

And this one too of the Arizona Engine testing.

Looks the goods. The interior like the Tezza would have to come in a at least 2 colours. I doubt the beige is your only option....

Our Model Everest will only have the 3.2 litre Diesel engine, no petrol variant available for us.

Herald Sun Car guide has a write up on Everest.
Mazda BT50 only sells 3.2, Ford recently dropped the 2.5 petrol engine from ranger & I was told by two dealers they suspect the next model Ranger might also drop the 2.2.

I would be very surprised (also judging by the room behind the rear seat) if the everest is not substantially longer than the territory. Everest also has low range transfer and live axle rear end.

Everest sits above Territory as a serious offroad alternative comparable with Prado etc. Car based Territory is more of an SUV and will probably be replaced by US Ford Edge.

Whilst sizing between is not hugely different, though the Edge will be a little bit smaller than the current Territory, there will be a distinct price gap with Edge/Territory is the $40-$60K range and the Everest more like $55K-$75K.

Caradvice says Everest starts at 45K, roughly 5 grand more than proper Ranger starts at. Judging by that I'd say top spec at 5k more than a wildtrak. 65k or thereabouts.

The Everest in that Arizona testing video had a dark interior. Don't see much of it, but from what I saw it looks pretty good. I think its the tan colour which makes the interior look cheap in these pictures. Especially that lower centre part of the dash.

Can't wait to see a black Everest with black interior in the flesh. I'm sure it will look great.

Lets hope they have a large fuel tank or an option to increase the tank size.

Surely it's been looked at but when you can get Yoda's or Rovers with 120+ tanks, a lot of the grey army wouldn't even look at it.

Looks like a great vehicle though.

Not unless it can:

1. Go 1600kms on a single tank
2. Use 7-8L diesel on the highway
3. Have constant 4wd that actually works well off road before you lock the diff
4. Have the option to use L4 without locking the centre diff (super handy for backing 2--3T uphill on bitumen or what ever
6. Be able to change a flat tire while bogged up to the chassis without having to dig out the spare
7. Go at least 100,000km without going to the dealer for more than an oil change.
8. Be able to find a dealer in most towns and regional centre.
9. Have unlimited accessories and modifications that actually work to improve the already excellent base vehicle.
10. Hold more than 65% of its original value in three years.
11. Have keyless ignition that also paves the way for touch sensitive door locks on the front and cargo doors.
12. Be able to open and shut all the windows with the remote
13. Have full auto windows up and down on all window buttons
14. Have windows the work when the engine is off

The list goes on and the numbers on paper (which is all we have right now) do nothing to address these issues.

The prado has being doing all of this and more for half a decade and at least half of it for more than a decade. So it is very good at it, well respected and deserved title.

The next prado will look antiquated if it does up these impressive abilities buy at least as much as it did back in 2009/2010.

15. Fit a dual battery under the bonnet, in fact be made for dual batteries from the factory (in Europe the D4D comes with dual starter batteries like the D4D 200 series does here)

I bought a Jeep Wrangler, and spent $30K on 4x4 mods and I'm still in front compared to people who own a Prado which costs $60K before you do anything to it.

Interesting outlook, I guess if you spend enough money you can make something do what you want it to, it was lifted sky high, fox racing shocks, massive mud tyres, LED light bars all over it, winch etc.

I like how youve got to spend $70k on a Prado to get this when EF Falcon had this as standard.

I also like how said Prado has the same radio as a $15k Yaris

I drive 2012 Prados all the time and I didn't think it could do these things.

Ill check tomorrow morning, but I know the windows don't work with the engine off, unless it in the 'on' position. (every car I have been in is like this)
Touch sensitive doors only on drivers door.

I also think the touch button starter sucks in every situation except if you just want to get it and start the engine instantly. I know that's what most people do most of the time but still annoying in other situations.
If you are parked with it in 'accessories' listening to the radio, then you want to put the window down, you have to cycle through 'on' 'off' 'acc' Which is slow to do and turns the radio off for 10+ seconds and turns the interior lights on. So much easier to just turn a key twice.

Plus Prados handle like boats on the road, steering is too light and the power is far form amazing.
