Default Mk 1 Lotus escort paint colours

My mate bought a 1970 Lotus Escort. Need to know if anyone knows the paint colour codes. It is currently Silver Fox but someone has told him it should be Polar white. Just wants to make sure before he repaints it....he has contacted ford but i just wanted to see if anyone here knows
thanks

I think they were all white in the Uk, but you could order them in other colours in Australia. I know of several green cars, a mustard one and orange was also popular.....Never seen a silver one though.

White with Green accents looks the best IMO.

Nice car!

Aus was any colour in the normal range for the TwinCam's

UK was white only (although I know of a couple that weren't factory white)

Have a look in the Technical Resources section of the forums, there are a lot of colour codes listed there so you should have a good chance of decoding the ID plate.

Default lotus escort

hi there
i use to own a mk 1 lotus escort in whyalla during the 80"S it was an original painted traffic light green with 2 yellow stipes approx 300mm wide, from the front valance, bonnet, roof, boot, rear valance although the car was fast and i ran it hard ,water pumps and tappets were always a problem not many mechanics knew much about them so it stayed for many months in the workshop untill i sold it
