Question Recirc Flap

2009 TDCi Titanium

When I push the button for the recirc flap on the control panel nothing happens anymore. I think the flap is stuck (open position) or the little solenoid that operates it is not working.

As you know the air-con is not the best and needs all the help it can when keeping the temp down on +35'C days.

Q: Where is the recirc flap and how do you get into it.

Dunno. Here's some self test info:

Actuator is on driver's side of climate control housing.

Re-calibrate System - This worked fine and no errors code showing. Didn't fix problem though.

Whilst doing the above and with the fan on it's slowest speed, I pushed the recirc button and you could here the flap move, coming from somewhere deep behind the centre of the dash. The trouble was that sometimes it would work and others nothing. It's like the flap is sticking, hence why I' like to inspect.

I couldn't say so you'll have to remove the glove box completely and eyeball for the blend door actuator.

See Haynes manual:

'Illustration 3.9.4b ... and remove the air recirculation flap housing'

As cobrin said, through the glovebox; not driver's side as I said before. I'm getting mixed up looking at diagrams.
