Default escort sports dash

hey there. i have recently bought a sports dash for a 1979 escort and i am wonderingif you need to have any extra wired running from the tacho to the coil, batter earth etc..? if you can help me with this it will be greatly appreciated thanks ps. if you need a pic of the tacho send me an email to andrew_derm_bmx@hotmail.com and i will gladly send you one thanks

There should be a pink/blue wire (I think that's right) next to the ignition coil that loops itself. This is the tacho signal wire. Connect it to the coil and the other end to the wire that goes to the distributor.

It's not a remove old cluster, install tacho cluster and it'll work fine type job. If you can, get the small two plug wiring harness off a Escort that has a factory tacho installed already. Will be much easier. If not, you have to modify the wires a little. Click link below for some info.
