Default LZ Focus transmission & stop-start issues

Hi everyone,
I've had my LZ Focus trend auto for just over 3 years now, it's been mostly reliable, but it has had a few issues along the way.
I've put 125,000km on it since new (drive a lot for work), always serviced etc.

Started to notice around 110,000km that the auto isn't as smooth as it used to be. The shifts between 1-2 have become harsh, and in traffic, there's now a noticeable 'clunk' getting on and off the throttle while coasting in 3rd, which feels and sounds almost like diff clunk that the BAs are famous for. I had my mechanic check the engine mounts, but they are fine.
It's also hunting for gears a lot more lately, I feel like every time I go near the throttle it kicks down.
Should I be getting a transmission service done to see if it fixes the problem?
Is anybody else having the same issue?

Also! The stop-start system in my Focus is easily the worst I've ever come across in any car (drive a lot of brands)
When it's cold, or if it isn't powered down for long enough, it restarts with an enormous CLUNK, which quite often scares my wife into thinking she has been rear-ended by someone, it cannot be good for the transmission. Is anyone else noticing this problem? I've taken it to Ford many times over this issue, they have done computer resets and replaced an auxilliary transmission pump thing, still doing it.

Long post, sorry.

That would be my advice, yes. You've done 125,000km so you would expect some wear. I'd have them check the driveline as well, eg CV joints, bushes etc.

I would get a service done on the box, as mercon lv breaks down fairly quickly, we had the box serviced at 45k and I'll have it done again at 90, re the clunking start stop, yes ours sometimes does the same thing, ford have looked at it to no avail. Keep us in the loop!
