Not a car, but I had my rego plates nicked last week in Dianella in Perth. ACT rego plates YGF 52N. My housemate also had one of her plates nicked, VIC rego QBU 500. Please let me know if you see them around (they should be relatively uncommon over here lol). Thanks

Default Celica Stolen In Adelaide - Bright Orange 1976 RA23 Coupe

Hi all,

A good friend of mine currently living and working in Adelaide has had his pride and joy stolen. Please keep an eye out for it, the colour alone stands out from the norm. Here's a copy and paste from his original thread on a Toyota Forum I frequent:

Quote:

It has Black on Yellow NSW no plates, AW-00-FY and looks like this:

It now has silver 5 spoke wheels, 16" front & 17" rear.

If you see it, hear about it, are offered any orange Celica or 4AG/TE parts for sale, please call myself, JOEL, on 0403 441 141 and/or the POLICE on 131 444.

I've owned this car for almost 10 years now (as alot of you will know as it's constant evolution was thanks to & recorded on this forum) and have changed/modified/upgraded/cleaned/polished/replaced over that period almost every part on the car, most of them more than once.
The parts on this car are pretty distinctive & should be easily recognised, if it wasn't polished it was painted, & most of it was custom suited to the car/engine/drivetrain/suspension/brake combination.

The easy bits to get rid of would be the Autronic SMC, Autronic CDI, Blitz SBC iD-III, Garrett GT2560RS (to suit GTR) turbo, ARE 400x300x75 intercooler, R33 Skline calipers (bright yellow with Nissan filed off), and maybe the wheels, the rear were 17x9" silver 5 spoke volks, ordinary condition, fronts were 16x8" silver 5 spoke merudios or something like that, good condition.
Everything else is Celica/Toyota specific.
My thanks to all those who keep an eye out for the car.

Clint

This is one of those instances where corporal punishment is probably ok... Hope she turns up . Anything appearing for sale that could be off this, we should keep an eye out

Thanks for the support, i havent heard anything yet.

I would say it was a targeted theft the amount of effort it would have took to get to it and the fact that there was no skid marks i would say its on a boat to america or in a thousand peices in a shed by now.

When i called the police they said they woudnt send anyone out because its just a stolen car but if something else on the property was taken it becomes a burgalry(spelling) and they would send some one. Is that normal. All they said was we'll keep an eye out for it.

WA police aren't very helpful of late. :( I know of quite a few valuable cars which have been taken and they do virtually nothing.

I should rephrase that post, I am implying that from what I've seen/experienced you get more help and support from forums like this one, and from the local car clubs than you do from the police. The more noise you make the better chance that someone may have seen heard something about it.

Sorry i did'nt know there was a stolen car thread all ready set up... my bad.

Any way thanks again everyone for the support.

I still havent heard anything yet.

A bit more info on the car to help keep a look out for parts..

Engine number NP1790.... i think, i'am 99% sure

Its a 302 block strocked to 351, it had new heads put on which were painted black and the rest of the motor was that ford light blue. Edelbrock manifold and 670 holley.

It had a T5 five speed conversion done by casltemain rod shop

A genuine small center hub XA GT 9inch diff with factory XA GT tramp rods. It had a 3.5 ratio center added which has new black paint.

The GS steering wheel was restored.

The front seats were retrimmed in the orinal black buffalo grain material, the rear plastic panels were still faded. The rear seat has some dodgy patch marks on it because it wasnt retrimmed.

14x8 and 14x10 ROH 12 slotters with 265/50 14 and 245/50 14 BFG T/A's which were 99% tred

Single head light grill which i did a dodgy paint job on, it was silver and black.

Left hand front gaurd was dinted from when it went through a fence.

The chrome roof moulds had some orange looking kill rust on them that would'nt come off.

There was a yellow RAA sticker on the back window

The id plate reads... (big tag id plate too)

11/72 XA Falcon 500 Coupe

Paint: Q (yellow fire)

Trim: B (Black vynil)

Motor: L (250 6cly)

Trans: L (4 speed toploader)

I can't find the rego papers for the vin at the moment, soon as i find it i will post it up.

Thanks again.
