Don't bet on it. Unlike the Zetec, the XR4 is not a trim level. There are no five-door Fiesta ST's in Europe, so no five-door Fiesta XR4 for Australia.

5-door superminis arent worth the extra cost. It just as easy getting in & out of the car in 3-door superminis... they're just as practical as the 5-door for day to day living.

Heh, just looked at that Ford site referenced above, looks like you get colours that we don't, like the grey, the green, the orange and the mauve.

We only get red, white, metallic blue, silver and black.

Don't want to argue, but that really isn't true. Trust me, for getting 2-3 passengers in the back seat of your car - 5 door takes a lot of stress out. The passengers in the back can go in and out as they please so you don't have to wait for the front passenger to take off their seatbelt, get out of the car and lean the front seat forward. Not to mention, who sits where isn't such a big deal in a 5 door.

That said, I very much dislike the 5 Door Fiesta because the roof, window and hatch lines are ruined. It's too upright and loses (no contest) to the sporty 3 Door version.

I know a couple of you blokes have actually gone ahead and placed an order for an XR4, have you yet had a firm on the road price for it?

I called into a Brisbane Ford Dealer today but they haven't got any XR4's in yet, I wanted to have a good look at one in the flesh, the salesman said they were expecting them to arrive in the next week or so but didn't have a definate delivery date, he said he would give me a call as soon as they arrived, he was talking around 27k driveaway but that was also "fairly negotiable."

I have always stated that I would not buy another Ford but let's just say my "appetite" has been somewhat tempted by what I suspect will be quite an exciting little car to drive.......110kw and 190Nm in a 1090kg car has got the "old brain matter" ticking over.

Iv'e done a fair bit of research over the last couple of weeks and I'm considering going the XR4 but obviously I would want to have a good look at one before ditching the Zetec.

Just how much better is it going to be over the Zetec for my needs is also something I need to consider as I pretty much just use the car to get to and from work........weekends it just sits in the garage and we use the wifes Lancer.

Does anyone know of any Brisbane dealers that actually have any yet to have a look at?

My order is in, expecting delivery next week.

RRP is $24,990 plus ORC, so you'd bank on around $27k all up. The only options available are the stripes ($300) or prestige paint ($300). I went with white with blue stripes, as Ford aren't expecting non-striped card until July, and I simply can't wait that long.

I'm a bit disappointed we don't get the option of side stripes; might have to look at getting some as it looks incomplete without them (compared to the UK cars) so whether that means getting a local joint to do it or getting them from the UK, I'm not sure. Not keen to do it if the colours don't match with the ones on the roof.

Congratulations mate, probably my pick of the colours too, just got to love the White.......they look so nice.

And your taking delivery next week!!, that's pretty quick off the mark, you guys that have placed orders must be getting very excited, not long now.....nice one guys, dont forget to post up lots of pics.

Well looks like they have hit majority of dealerships today (Official Release Date), except Brad Garlick Ford?? usually they are the first ones to get new stock. Photn was at one today and saw Blue/White Stripe in pre delivery mode at Mcarthur Ford.. Also got quoted $28500 drive a way no more to pay (with stripes/prem paint). Both 2 allocated are already sold.. 40 units state wide is a bit of a stretch i think....

Btw: please support the " damo wants xr4 fund"

Yup yup was at Ford getting a steering wheel fitted. was just sitting in customer lounge looked to my right and saw it drive in.....

i want one :( Blue with white stripes FTW!

it just looked so good...... im the first on the list at macarthur ford for a test drive!

i still want one cause they are cool... i still think they arent really worth it.. but i just want one~!
