Default Auii Edit

Hey Guys i am looking at changing diff ratios in the AUII XR8 auto and was wondering if the speedo can be re calibrated through the edit? i know shift firmness can etc but can the speedo be done?

Correct 5speedeb, the speedo drive is the easiest way.

Im going from the 3.45 to the 3.9s.

I didnt think there was a speedo gog that i could change to go to that ratio but maybe im wrong??

the other way is to contact Howard instruments in Heidelberg, they can sell do the electronics for you.

get a xd transducer thats what i done with my 3.73


cog size depends on the size of your rims

I went from 3.45's to 3.9's on mine....running std 235/45/17.

The largest cog I could find had only one extra tooth (black 23-tooth), but it took the difference from about 13% to about 10%...much easier to calculate on the fly.

If you are DIY, then Jaycar are selling their speedo corrector kit again. They are $45 plus your assembling time.

I was under the impression, from what I have read, that doing this will mean the auto shift points are at 13% higher rpm (because it is programmed to shift at the same road speed...km/h).

Chris, can you confirm if this would be the case? Obviously, if this was correct, it would cause some problems for WOT shifts in some gears, hitting the limiter and so on...

during normal driving I think it will change gears sooner rather than later in an auto since it thinks the road speed is greater than it actually is, therefore, your problem wont be hitting the limitter, but changing before the limiter...

also to change gears, the trans also gets a voltage from the TPS to determine whether it is WOT or a % of WOT...this will affect change also. not certain how the road speed and TPS voltage correlate though in gear selection during WOT driving...
