The Holden lovers here will disagree and say every new model has teething issues. Name one model with more. Here's a few:

Climate Control - blisteringly hot on 26 deg, freezing cold on 25 deg.
Blind spot assist not working.
Collision alert randomly going off when driving, causing the car to brake suddenly and cut off cruise control.
Heated seats not working.
Heated mirrors will not work at all.
Section of wiring loom missing from audio system.
Navigation blanks out while driving, also won't respond and freezes occasionally.
HUD displaying errors.
HUD wonky.
Reverse camera turns to fisheye randomly
Rear speakers play bass only.
Door handles won't work, can't open door to get out.
Hand brake stuck on.
Electrical buzz heard when opening door.
Steering lock errors.
Driver's seat base faulty, seat moves around when cornering.
Transmission becoming more clunky.
Bonnet needs the **** slammed out of it to close.
Sound system has huge lag, sometimes up to 2 minutes to change a song.
Rear speakers don't work.
Music and radio randomly stops for no reason.
Cold air in front, hot in back
Brake light not fitted properly
Wiring harness from right door handle blue light missing
Climate control doesn't work.
CD ejects randomly every 3-5min

This is only SOME of the issues (fault thread is 13 pages long so far). These aren't one-off's. Numerous people getting these issues.

Name one car that has had these "minor teething problems"?

Truth is, Holden has tried to bite off more than they can chew. They have looked at the euro market, scribbled down a to-do list of all the cool gadgets, and then without having any experience previously doing so, has crammed it all in the cheapest way possible. Then released the car targeting the euro market.

I've had 2 FG's, a 2008 model XR8, and the current 2011 GS. Both mk1, with I think maybe one issue - I once had the ICC screen reset itself briefly.

I think it's hilarious. Holden are arrogant *******. They have gone out with their chest pumped out, all ambitious to take on the euro's, and it's blatantly obvious the cars are cheap tacky crap.

No idea why people keep praising this shithouse brand. They've always been a bit's n peices brand, using other brand's parts, stealing designs and making false claims and it seems everyone can't see through it.

You could not pay me enough to own one. Horrible cars, horrible brand.
here you go!

I read a couple pages, about as many pages as I read on the VF. Only issue I saw is steering pump issue and a couple ICC issues. Hardly comparable. Nice try though.

Sounds like the VF has some minor problems and software issues already. This is a reason why I would never buy a new model car within the first 12 months or so of release, even though its covered by warranty it would be such a pita going back to the dealer and have to go through all the teething issues of a new model

one thing I like about stazza!! he stands his ground lol!!

heres the thing with everyone that Bags the FG and compares it to the VF forgets. the VF has been around how long now??? these faults on the FGs have been recorded for 5 years. a fair comparison for issues would be FG vs VE.

even the reliable AU had a few teething problems at first. so long as the dealership doesn't treat you like **** I'd be happy. I can understand why you wait 12 months in saying that thou

You have a strange sense of humour my friend.

I have openly admitted on many occasions my hatred for all things Holden, and it's perfectly justified.

If it counts for more than half of my post history then that tells you there are too many Holden threads on a Ford forum and too many Holden lovers.

By all means, like what car you want but this is a FORD forum and some people tend to forget that.

**** Holden

I don't mind Holden's but don't see what's the big go about them. I get **** for owning Fords but yet I have had less trouble with an AU falcon I have had for 7 years then what most of my friends with VL onwards commodore have had in 3 years. I also have an AU ute which I have had 2 years (was my dads before he died) and it never gave him any trouble. carried all his tools for years, always loaded (concreter). even the BA we had wasn't a bad car, sure the Diff bushes went at 100,000kms on a car that was very well looked after and never hooned (unless overtaking is hooning) was the only complaint really with that car. I have been fortunate enough to drive both Holdens and Fords and own them both (wish I could afford newer). So why is it that if you like Fords and/or own a Ford you get bagged out by Holden drivers and Fans left, right and centre but yet own a Commodore or Holden and/or be a Holden Fan you don't cop so much flack??? this one has really got me stumped because from what I have seen in terms of durability and user life. the Falcon wins hands down. Also, Im yet to drive an automatic Commodore from the VN series onwards that doesn't hunt gears! I'm not being biased here. thou i'll more then likely be called it but Holdens seem pretty over rated to me

Mate I've had so much abuse thrown my way over the years for owning Fords. Had **** thrown at my car, cut off, tail gated, flipped finger at me and laughing, even had my brand new 2 day old XR8 keyed by a Holden driver. (He admitted it when he payed my insurance bill)

Ask any Ford driver, garuntee they have had a run in with a Holden driver some time or another.

Never had an issue on the road with any other road users apart from a couple ignorant people. They have **** attitudes. Think their cars are race cars. Think they own the road. Think they invented everything to do with cars. Think Holden is the be all and end all and refuse to acknowledge a nice car of another brand. They are sore losers and jealous ****wits.

I can just see it now, every Holden owner claiming that Holden's are AMG/euro smashing machines because the GTS beat a 4 cyl AMG. They did similar things with the walkinforsure 427.

I could go on for hours. How about bonnet bulges? Bag out fords but will get a bonnet bulge fitted. How about the chev badges? Chev badge wirh aussie pride stickers. ****in rednecks. I'd be embarrassed if Ford drivers were like this.

Drove Falcons for 10 years. Not one incident with a Holden driver.

If you keep attracting that sort of treatment, maybe you need to ask yourself a bit more objectively why you're being targeted.

For all we know, He could live in Nowra, NSW. They'd batter you to death with empty Tooheys New bottles for driving a Ford there.

I agree with Him as far as the redneck comments go. Some of the Holden people are terrible and will even go so far as to slander someone, or vandalise their car - because it's a Ford. However, you also get Holden people (let's call them "car enthusiasts") who will appreciate a car for what it is. The first ever F6 I looked at, was owned by a self-confessed Holden lover, who worked at a Holden dealer, who had switched camps because He felt nothing Holden offered could compare.

I also once received a heap of praise from an SSV driver who had been beaten by me three times in a row. He couldn't believe how fast my gear changes were (it was a ZF. He couldn't believe it was an auto.)

I'm on a number of Euro Forums and you will occasionally get someone who is over the top in their assessment of other brands but they are generally ignored by the bulk of forum members or told to grow up. In a lot of cases they will be young members who have never owned a new car or experienced another brand.

You'll find that Merc owners for example will appreciate BMW, Audi, GT-R, Porsche and other high end brands for what they are. Owners of the other makes are the same and many will often own more than one brand or at least be au fait with the good and bad points of many cars including their own.

The forums members are usually well educated, generally civil to each other with any unnecessary carrying on not tolerated by members or moderators.

At the end of the day the telling factor being they are primarily car enthusiasts and therefore don't feel threaten by other makes of car or their owners. They tend to appreciate cars regardless of the badge.

Go Ford for tomorrow.

Spot on!

A serious auto enthusiast will appreciate different brands for what they are.

Personally, i believe Ford make a better product than Holden when looking at the whole package, but thats not to say that fords havent had issues.

Ford build a well engineered package but always come across conservative, never quite going all the way.
Holden just put it out there and say, this is it, warts and all, if you want Australias fastest production car, expect it to behave like a Commodore in every other way.

The words Holden and refined rarely belong in the same sentence, given.
But Holden and modern muscle go like bees and honey.

Too true.

Get on some of the Yank Euro sites and you'll find a lot of high end AMG owners for example who will also have Mustangs, Corvettes and a whole range of assorted old school muscle in their garages as well.

Car toys for car boys is what it's all about (female members included).

theres a couple that actually prove me wrong...a both GTs are 12.2s and the track prepped walkinshaw only managed a best of 12.8 on the same strip in the same conditions.Once again putting truth to the FACT that holdens CLAIMS are never matchedby owners...yet fords.....well that's different.
I accept appollagies in cash or I could spend another 5 minutes looking for fast GTs for you.

So at this point I think our FORDS can hold their heads high and all you closet holden lovers can smug off. Im still yet to be wowed by the new VF ranges performance figures. The teck is impressive(when it works apparently...but that's another thread)
