Default NSW: Bseries Social - Karting! - Next meet 4th of MAY!!!

Hi folks,
After an awesome time karting the other day with Falc'man, Big'Al, Airmon and another fellow me and Falc'man himself have decided to do a monthly karting event and all bseries members are welcome. Fun time out and get to get social rather than staying on the forums all day

We are aiming for the last week of every month. Next round will be in dapto/wollongong for the 400cc 13hp karts down there.

Interested? :

Next weekend the 27th (not this weekend) is the "last" weekend of January. Obviously, if its raining you'd think it would be called off, right? Wrong! They have wet tyres for wet days, so no excuses :P Bring spare clothing if its raining!!! if rain is too heavy, then it will be cancelled.

Maximum number of people on the track at any one time is 12. Anymore and we'd have to twist his arm to allow more on.

These karts have 13hp but word is they're a bit quicker than the "13hp" at Eastern Creek. We'll find out soon if that's true...

Kart Hire is as follows...

"ARRIVE AND DRIVE"

15 mins - $40
30 mins - $70
1 hour - $130

Here is a link to the website and location...
http://www.wollongongcityraceway.com.au/The_Track.html

I'll be there (baring the unforeseen) next weekend!!!

After yesterdays results at Picton Karts, George goes into Wollongong as the "STIG". I'll be happy to take that title off him next weekend :P out:

Oh yes you will. This place is a little more professional than Picton, they've got proper race suits (they will cater for all sizes) not the shonky overalls we had on yesterday.

Hahahahaha we must make a tradition that the person who gets the quickest lap time of the meet gets to wear the white helmet at the next meet :P

i know its not really a proper go kart track, but have you been to the track at arncliffe george? suitable for days when its pi55ing down outside,

windsor's track was pretty good when i used to race there a few years ago too.

Yer i have its not a well and proper kart track and the karts are somewhat underpowered but the surface is slippery and the track is tight which makes it fun

Sounds great guys. 3rd is out for me, but I am in the area on a cruise (well you could call it a cruise)...

If it's on Saturday count me in for sure. What is the next planned date post weekend 3rd Feb?

Is there a meet for the drive down? Natio?

Cheers

Ben, as George mentioned, we're aiming for the last weekend of every month. In the case where one of these weekends turns out to be inconvenient for alot of the members, it'll be wiser to postpone (as we did above).

Doubt it, ...too much time wasting, its a long enough drive (for some) as it is. I'd prefer to turn up at the track.

Cheers Dan. By the look of it, all the guys are flexible so we'll make the time of meet at the track 230pm. Do you need more than 1hr to get to Kembla Grange from your work?

Wear and tear on a 1.8 tonne car is not cheap. Brakes, tyres, fuel, coolants/fluids etc.
At least with the karts, we can get good close hard racing without the worry of stacking it.

Alright folks, I spoke to the gentleman today about Sunday 3pm and he said it
was ok for that time slot, BUT, if we can't come up with some type of
deposit he can NOT guarantee that time for us.

Getting deposits from some people is like getting blood from a stone so the
plan is to rock up at 3pm (without deposits) and hope no one is using the
track at the time. If there are others before us, its just a matter of waiting
our turn (which probably won't be that long anyway)

I still have to call them up Sunday morning to confirm that no one has
booked out the whole afternoon, which is highly unlikely.
so please check this thread on Sunday (about midday) before making your
way to the track.

So far the list for Sunday the 3rd of Feb is...

Ruger
Airmon
BigAl
1TUFXR
Falc'man (I have at least 3 guys wanting to come with me at this stage)

Add your name to the list if you're a certainty....

The next scheduled Kart meet (after this) is as mentioned in the very first
post....

I met a couple of you guys on the Putty Rd cruise.

I've only ever karted at Picton, so 13hp karts sound like fun, and only 20mins from where I live. Scattered thunderstorms are predicted for Sunday as well. Karting in the wet sounds like fun

Ill see you guys there on Sunday.

Sweet, it'll be good to meet you. Good to have someone down there to keep an I eye out on the weather for us too. It would be appreciated if you could give us a heads up if you think the rain is too heavy come Sunday morning, but then again, I'll be speaking to Paul at the track and he'll let me know too. As mentioned in an earlier post, light rain/drizzle is still ok...

With 13hp, I (and Rugernenn) can vouch for these being a fair bit quicker than the "13hp" Eastern Creek. And with a bit of drizzle, these would be seriously fun to race in.
