Default Intermittant spluttering on first startup

Any advice on what might be the issue? It's a au2 200kw ute, on gas, but the problem is on petrol when starting.

I think the problem started after I cleaner the MAF a few weeks ago but not 100%.

The car will start fine and i will apply slight throttle to about 1500rpm, after about 2-3 second it will splutter down to about 500rpm, then go back to 1500, hold for a few more second then splutter again.

It only does it for less than a minute and by the time I'm 100-200m down the road it's sorted itself out!

Sounds like a fuel supply issue. I had the same symptoms after I changed the fuel filter on my Delica diesel. With mine, car starts - bubble of air passes through the injectors and splutters then fuel comes good then air again then clean fuel supply. I tightened up the filter a bit more and the problem went away. Not that I'm suggesting your filter is to blame necessarily, just that the symptoms are the same. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter anyway? It could also be a fuel pressure problem. If the system is bleeding down when sat it might explain the symptoms as well.
