Parts Availability, Escort

Hi guys, im currently going through the motions of buying a MKII Escort Pano Van and am just wondering how hard is it to get parts for the Escorts, and the 2lt engine's?
I need a set of seats, incliding rails, and a set of tail lights to start with.

My 25 year old dream finally comes true, owning an Escort.

best getting aftamarket parts and parts from other cars that will fit in.

Did you do the water test (pour jug of water down the front of the windscreen) to check the bulkhead was okay?

Plans to start with are just to get it rego'd, and drive it 90% of the time, instead of the ED.
No pics yet.
I will pick it up in a few weeks.

Engine parts are easy to get Kerry, I have plenty of spares if you need them.
The hard parts to find will be the tail lights.
I also have a set of 13in minilites if you want them as the stockies on the van
are F#@%ed

SA has next to no parts for eskis the wreckers just dont stock the parts you need any more, they got plenty of parts you dont need tho...

Your van is very tidy but a little out of my budget atm.

if you keep your eyes open, you shoudl be able to source parts easily enough. you can still get seats, but they will probably need retrimming. try getting to know the local escort expert/s in your state and also try classic ford forum. lots of guys on there (and a few of them are here) who know escorts inside out and have for sale and wanted sections. i have some van tail lights somewhere...cant remember how good they are, but they certainly werent buggered.

I dunno where you guys are looking, but there are numerous places within SA that have a mulyitude of parts. I'm on esky number 6 and i don't see and end tp parts availability.
