Hi all,
I have an AUII Fairmont (2000), which hasn't got alloy wheels. I have found some AUII 16" alloys from a futura, but i'm not sure if these wheels will fit on a fairmont. I did a search and found nothing, so I assume it's an obvious answer, however I want to be sure before I buy them. Also, my tyres are quite good, and AFAIK both wheels will take 215/60/16 tyres. Does anyone know how much a tyre shop would charge to swap the tyres from the old wheels to the new alloys then install the wheels onto the car? I would guess around $25 a wheel or something but my expectation might be unrealistic. Thanks for any advice, and please ask if I haven't provided enough information. |

Yep, all wheels from AU series 1 up to FG will fit any model of the period.
Just make sure the rolling diameter is the same or roughly the same otherwise it'll throw your speedo out. In your case it would be. |

The $25 should cover the stripping the tyre from one wheel and fitting the tyre to the alloy, balancing it, and then fitting to your car.

I got some tyres stripped and fitted. Cost me $10 a tyre.

My usual tyre place charges $15 to $20 for a strip and fit.
