Im guessing your bidding on the 70mm tickford one thats currently on ebay? I was also, just been outbid.
Depends, the tickford ones seem to be more expensive than aftermarket due to the authenticity (and T wings). Im guessing anywhere between 350 - 600 depending on condition and how much use theyve had.

The above is about right, theyre not an absolute 'must have' for your engine in terms of performance, more a nice bit of bling really.

how thick is the metal on the stock ones? for a cheap alternative, anyone looked at porting them? I guess you'd have to without the butterfly though and that would pretty much render them useless

haha nice choice. There are aftermarket 70mm throttle body's (with a polished EGR spacer) on ebay from an american company. Might be worth looking at importing one?

Does anyone know if some US mustangs have the same TB?

BBK, Edelbrock etc make 70mm TB's but I'm unsure if they are a direct fit to our manifolds and throttle cables.

Manifold yes, the biggest issue would be the throttle cable bracket I reckon, and possibly the location of the EGR ports.

Thought you were swapping the one over with the sedan?

Yeah i thought stuff it and if i get outbid then ah well, i was nearly on my limit waiting for another bid to beat me but i ended up with it.

I was thinking about swapping the sedan one over but then no doubt people will see it's missing and think what else has he pulled from the car so best i leave it original.

Just wait and see what it's like now ..

That's what it comes down to - what's it worth to have another pair of wings in the engine bay.

I've got a BBK Edelbrock one at home, everything bolted up as per factory, looms/throttle cables/ISC etc.
Not sure why people pay so much for the tickford ones?
