There must be a way to safely improve the 2.2 without grenading the thing.

Some tuners tend to be too greedy by promising big increases in power and
torque but surely, there’s a way to improve spool up and low end torque…

When you add boost to a petrol engine, it’s normal procedure to increase the
end gaps on the compression rings, so I can see how not doing that on a turbo
diesel could have catastrophic consequences. There’s probably other important
things to do as well, the point is the knowledge should be out there in the diesel
Community.

If it wasn't for the fact I just couldn't stand the brutal ride quality of the PK, I would have kept it a little longer. Not one thing went wrong in the 6 years I owned that car, and I mean NOTHING. Not even a recall.

Ford knew what they were doing with the 2.2, making it so bad that anyone with a choice would have paid for the bigger 3.2. I say "with a choice" because many were aimed at lower cost fleet ownership, or in my case, not given the option to have the 3.2 without stepping up to a 4x4 high rider.

Don't read this to mean I hate my PX MK II, I really love it to be honest. It has just enough technology to be very easy to live with, the ride quality is very good for what it is, the seats are comfortable, it's easy to clean (highly important!) and it just takes all the abuse I throw at it. But the engine is it's biggest failing, especially with 100kg of tools in the tray and some nice big heavy bags of wet grass.

You forgot this.

Unfortunately, my comments were deleted for speaking against Elon and Teslas.

And I did explain it. Re-read your own post. You don't know the difference between Chow and Ciao

So pick your poison. Are you signing off like Dr Terry does and we address you as Mr Chow or is it that you don't know how to spell Ciao. You pick.

As expected but you know your real reason as do I. You just couldn't help yourself and be a smartarse and now do your usual backtrack coverup. You need to grow up dude and FFS give us all a rest from you constant ego BS.

Gawd, I can’t wait to see November sales, did Ford back up sales from October or did Ranger deliveries fall away?

They certainly do, my Focus is manual and had the same crapola, I think a combination of protecting the gearbox as well as emissions requirements.

Franco I had the same LT diesel and just put up with those constrains as you and got pretty much trouble free life out of it. I traded it on an Lz at 278000 it was still as strong as an ox
