That's a good question, I am not sure... fortunately my RS is rust free there so I haven't investigated it yet!

I'm not sure either. How bad is it? Any pictures?

i dont know if you can get heater bowls, but they all go there. the problem is with the drain hole at the bottom of the bowl. it is a great idea as long as leaves dont get in there. as soon as you get some blockage, all that lovely water gets stored there. i would advise against using bog as a repair tool. it is really simply to be used for smoothing oput repairs. spend the money and get it wleded. in a frontal accident, you dont want 2 kg of bod between you and your engine.

mine was all rusted there when i got mine, what we did was cut open the top of the bowl thingy clean all the leaves and hsit out of there, grinded all the rust out, then i got my bro and dad both engineers to fix and weld all new metal in where the rust was and then they made up a 2nd bowl to fit inside where we cut it open so that leaves can't get inside the firewall anymore (works well so far) and then they welded where we cut open back on and we painted it.

u cant tell we cut it open now although u can see where the rust hit the little lip just on the outside of it as we just sorta cut that off and didn't worry to much about welding a new lip on it.

its all covered over now by one of those rubber covers now anyway so u can't see it
