Default Cobra #255

Pleased to announce that Cobra #255 is back to life again.

The restoration of the coupe that had been in England for some years, is complete.

Photos and a background can be viewed at

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/...06947649349199

Thanks goes out to:
JohnPaul Bodyworks in Bayswater Vic
Chitticks Garage in Kilsyth Vic
Cobra Club President (nice work Bruce!!)
and finally, Frank Sola - a magician in putting it all together again with first class attention to detail.

I will add more photos and videos in the coming week.

Glad and proud to say that yet another classic aussie muscle car is alive and well!

John Ruggiero

No the car is home sweet home in melbourne. It was returned to australia 2.5 years ago, when I purchased it needing restoration.

It has been under restoration for 12 months...

It's a 4 speed, 302. Low spec - just the way I like it.

When it arrived back in Australia in 2008 it had an auto, after market upholstery and was looking a little bit tired.

No it wasn't mate. In fact the history of this car is still being traced. It just seems to be a lost gem...

Very nice car Guys

I see you didnt adhere to the Ford Factory way of painting the cobra

Blue first with white sprayed over the top!

I never understood why they did that to be honest!!!!!!

cheers boys!
we did actually spray blue first. but not over the whole car. so it achieved the same effect.
we used original cobras that have never been resprayed, just as a reference. but the interesting thing is that even these cars had differences in sticker placement, paint lines and so forth. many differences were found.

Would this Cobra have been on a tow truck today (Monday) around the Mt Evelyn/Montrose area? If so, it looks amazing.

(just looked at the pics again, pretty sure its the car i saw today. Almost ran over a Lancer while going round a roundabout trying to have a gander)

ZcAmbo I reckon thats the one. I still have the UK plates in my garage!

Deaks - yep - thats the one! hahah! I had it up there getting a new twin exhaust put on. Sounds great!

And Bruce I know you've had a fair bit to do with Cobra 255 - not only did you help me source parts and offer solutions to questions I could not answer, but you introduced me to Frank Sola.

because it is the best way by far, it is a thousand times easier to mask if you do the blue first
