Then Ken from the Paint Police sprayed some 2 Pack Shockwave Effect all around the hard to get at spots and under the bonnet, boot and engine bay.

coming along nicely, looks like the paint police are doing a great job. looks like he's a fan of wetsanding imo the best way to finish off a resto.

Thanks for the positive comments. Here's some shots of Blue Glass melted all over the coupe. It looks as though it got dipped into hot blue glass. I think the right decision was made to give the acrylic the flick. Ken has yet to rub it back and buff it up. Great effort, thanks Ken. Thank goodness for broadband

Looks awesome and it'll look better when it's cruising down the road. When I repaint mine I'm doing it acrylic but only because I like the flat finish to acrylic when done properly. But the missus coupes looks sweet as and it's done in 2pac and looks deeper then acrylic.

i thought the same before i started spray painting, I liked the look of a flat acrylic job becuse most 2 pac job's look chunky and jammy looking, until found out when 2 pac's done the right way, it looks just as good as a just buffed up acrylic job, only its stays glossy forever. Acrylic has that flat finish becuse it needs to be rubbed flat for a gloss finish , you can do the same with 2pac just takes more of an effort to rub and buff

I finally figured out what it reminds me of - a blue toffee apple. Can't wait to roll it out into the sunlight. It has been clear coated with approx 4 coats from memory.

Yeah I can understand what your saying but even the show cars at summernats that are done in 2pac have orange peel. But not only that my car is a genuine GT and I like to have a factory look to the paint. But your right about 2pac, it dose have a deep glossy look to it.

The paint on the car looks great of the gun .What clear was used on it as it seems to have flowed out real nice.

I think acrylic has a flat look due to th eway its sprayed and blocked back and buffed .2 pac gets that ripple effect due to people going for the flat glassy look of the gun and the clear moving a little .I have been advised by a very good painter to spray a bit drier for less clear block back reclear block and buff .
The americains paint drier(to much for me) and their panels always look dead straight.

I'll find our what brand the clear coat is.

Here's some shots of the car back at my place ready to be stored away until time and $5k is found to finish it off.

This isn't intended to be a show car, just simply a muscle car that can be enjoyed. Kenny Boy Thompson did a great job.

The clear coat was - Car Master Pro Clear Hi Solid.

I've dropped the door trims off to Superoo in Armadale, Perth. I've been waiting for over a year for Dash Original in South Aust to test the templates and run a set of door trims but I've given up. Hopefully the guys at Superoo can get their guy to come through with the goods.

Hopefully within the the next 3 to 4 weeks I'll have some images.

We've also been getting an XC coupe modelled for us to use at our racing car simulator business so I'll have some interesting images up in the next couple of weeks. I had to photograph the coupes dash and guages for the modellers to incorporate in the 3D interior. Should be great racing the XC coupe against an A9X around Bathurst on the simulators.

OK,

Thanks to Paul we gathered some motivation to install the motor and gearbox.

Here's some images for your interest. Paul appears to be doing most the work while I mess about getting the beer cold. I did well to paint the new Pacemaker headers blue without getting any runs in the paint

I took on Pauls advice and replaced the fuel & water pump as well as new engine mounts. We then managed to lower the engine and gearbox into the engine bay without touching or scratching anything.

Motor is now in and a quick shot of my nice blue extractors. I added another 100hp just by painting them blue, actually it depends on how many beers are consumed as to how much horsepower is added. :
15" x 8" Globes and 265's are now on the front

Holley Street Avenger 670 carby, new 2 core radiator and other bits getting bolted on. We are spray painting alternator brackets etc as we go.

We managed to get the engine running and took it for a small drive. Engine started well once we set the dizzy to the correct spot. We then started to bolt on all the bits and polish all the alloy and chrome items.
