Default Escort pulls to one side!!

Gday,

My mk2 pulls to the right when I brake. I have checked all brake pads and bleed the brakes...didn't help. It also sags a little to the front right. Could this be the cause?

I would appreciate anyones views on what it could be and most importantly how I can veryfy the problem. Ive had many people tell me it could be this or that, but then have no idea how to check it. I don't want to change half the suspension and braking before i get to the problem.

Just got the escort back on the road yesterday...so it was a bitter sweet moment.

Thanks fellow escorters and good luck in your endevours.

Did you actualy take the pads out or just visual check? Because if one of the caliper cylinder seizes the other side will have to do the braking having the effect of pulling to one side. Apart from that every suspension joint has to be in good nick or there will be some sort of problem. This is where a mechanic with a hoist comes in very handy.

I didnt take the pads out but did a visual check. All pads appear to have the same thickness therefore I assumed they were all applying the same pressure.

well if it pulls to one side when your braking it could be a bush worn or nut loose somewhere around the lower control arms. Generally if it pulls to the right a bush is missing or worn or nut is loose somewhere on the left hand side and vice versa. Just check all your suspension bushes for wear and all nuts are nice and tight.Sometimes the bush might have even split and come off all the way so check closely to make sure they arent totally missing either. Hope this helps
