Anyone know if the rumor is true about a street meet possibly happening in June?

Your not the only one. I have a mate with a red XP with a 600hp windsor he is itching to run, and I wanna see him carve it up.

Does he live down south blueoval??

AIR was self sanctioned after the andra fallout and they went back to andra sanction then it all stopped.

Yep, he went to the waikerie 8th mile strip a few months back and got on the front page of the local rag. Was stoked about that considering the meet was for monaro's. hehe

I wouldnt bother on the waikerie track unless you want to do rip skids up there. Matt (mate with the XP) tells me the track isnt prepped nor has any rubber down so grip is no better if not worse than a normal road. He said traction was a major issue up there even with slicks. Sounds pointless unless you legally wanna pull some burnouts etc.

The Waikerie airstrip meetings are just a stop gap measure. We are in the development stages of a full 1/4 mile strip near Barmera. It will be the only full length concrete 1/4 in Australia. We have ANDRA support and it will have an 'A' grading, allowing Top Fuellers full power passes, which you will never see at AIR again due to its short run off.

thanks smally, the next test and tune will be November at the airstrip i think. When should sould the new track be running and AIR will it ever return at all , as it couldn't live on street meets alone if they fix the timing system and track.

AIR is getting up and running for some drifts apparently. The last corner or "The Bowl" joins the drag strip...
This a sign of things to come?

We should see some major construction beginning some time this year. For updates and info go to our website. There is a forum on there too, open to anyone, not just club members.

Have seen drifting at AIR around the bowl at the '04 Extreme HP Show and it seemed like a good spot for it. Gotta worry about that big concrete wall on the outside though!

Yep, next drag meet (buggered if I know why they call it a test and tune, more like a street meet) is Sunday Nov 25th at Waikerie. Saturday is the Show N Shine at the Berri oval and we normally have a dyno set up then too.

Be good to see some more Fords up here for this. Anyone wanna camp on my back lawn??

Would be nice to see some E,A & B series getting into drifting to compete with these blokes.

Well was at A.I.R today....for the drifts. Yeah i know what everyone is thinking, but hey it was a good day. For the advertisement they had (which was word of mouth/forums) there was a fair few cars out.
They had a short track for the first half of the day, then the long track in the afternoon. At about 3 they opened the bowl up (coming on the straigh/drag strip). Was a good day, facilites were good, nice green grass in the pits, helpful and funny marshalls.
Why am i saying this here? Well one of the organisers came around after it was all done and dusted and thinked everyone (spectators/drivers etc) for coming personally.
She went onto say that the more support they get the more events they will hold and use the money to upgraded as many aspects as possible.

We really got to get the word out and get as much support as possible!
