my favourite was on one of the episodes of "RIDES" (I have them all, can't remember which season, etc) but they made a quick stop somewhere where a bunch of gear heads were and one guy had a nice truck like an F250 or F350 but it had twin 6 inch exhaust stacks going up like a truck.
The host said something like "that's a bit of overkill, isn't it". The guy replied, no it needs it cause I'm running a (can't remember how many thousands of hp) helicopter jet engine. When he started it, boy you should've seen the smile on people's faces!

The original hiller coupes were the best, the 300 and arrow coupes that followed sorta spoilt things.

I don't like with the BA coupe how they just kept the existing roofline. Looks underdone. I prefer the angle of the rear windows on the 300+ over the earlier Hillier coupes

I'm a local and have never seen that black one before, looks awesome. Is the other one you're talking about an orange or red XB GS? Plates say XBGS.

I see that one around sunbury alot, sounds tough.

Only thing I don't like about the 'lux is the flames on the shaker.
Should be black or something.

A black grille might improve the look too.

yeah, colour match the scoop, some less conspicuous mesh, replace the garden edging flares with proper flares or just some new edging that hasnt distorted.

dosnt need much at all to be a nice truck imo.

But isn't that what Australian coupes are all about? A two door version of the family hauler? Look at the HK Monaro vs the HK Belmont, or VH Valiant vs VH Charger.

Their rooflines are totally different which gives them the unique coupe shape. This on the other hand is a BA sedan with the rear doors welded up.

eg.
HK Monaro

HK Belmont

But thats the thing. Like I said, its just a 2 door version of the 4 door car.
Take the XB coupe and XB sedan for example, complete different body shape from the front windscreen onwards.

THE problem with that BA is the lack of kick in the window line, Hiller got it right with the AU...

yeh fair enough, as with all these sorts of things it was/still is a work in progress. the scoop came off a matt black cortina which it suited very well , was put on the hilux purely for fuctionality. The rubber flares were there just to keep the cops off my back, cos u cant buy proper flares wide enough lol and a newer sutom gril is on the cards, just needed to knock something up to put on there cos the standard one wouldnt go back on after cutting out the radiator support to fit a big 3 core landcruiser one to keep the V8 cool
