Default AU with BA/F Interior??

What parts of the BF interior can fit into an AU Falcon? Is there any parts that simply will not fit without major mods?

There is an AU that has been posted on the forums somewhere with a BA interior.

The dash phyiscally fits but getting all the wiring sorted for the ICC would be a night mare.

Seats need the rails modified.

Door trims will fit but won't line up with the dash.

The A and B pillar plastics should fit.

Do not know about centre consol, steering wheel (do you need to change to a BA/F column.

i know what you're saying, but i know of an ED with a BA Fairmont dash and interior. with enough modification, anything can fit anywhere..

i would imagine, that a lot of it will bolt into an AU. but without actually seeing it done, i couldn't tell you. you'd be a bit of a pioneer attempting it

I was thinking that maybe the door trims and seats would go... maybe not then... oh well, it was worth the ask. Thanks guys.

I agree too the BA/BF interior looks too boring and bland, whereas the au looks smooth and comfy. PLus I hate the material the BA has on the dash ity's ugly upclose although I'm sure it lasts longer. S3 interior FTW

I too prefer the AU interior. All my AU wagon needs is BA headlights, grille and guards and I'd be rather content. :P

Seriously, that is the complete opposite of what I would be doing. BF XR8 with an AU interior! Now that would be pretty sweet.

You are so lucky I am tired and have the AFD tomorrow, you don't deserve to own an AU :

Damn straight.

BA/BF interior, and steering, are the biggest letdowns of the B-series range. AU interior (high series) is so much better it hurts.

I like the B-series interior. All those saying the Au is better, are you compairing apples with apples? or AU xr's and Monty's with B-seies povo packs?

I'm comparing my AU Forte Series 3 versus the BA XT... Apples to apples, in my case.

i'm comparing my AUII Futura with my old man's BAII Futura, BA's inside feels cramped for me

Thats a fair point. I would've said that my preference was for the BA interior. At one point I had both a BA and AU and the BA interior was worlds better than the AU. I spose you'd expect that with a low-km BA Ghia vs a ex-cop AU2 Forte with worn out seats :hihi:
I sold the BA and kept the AU (mainly because it has the proper number of cylinders : ) and its slowly getting better with the swap to SR black interior nearly finished.

anyway in response to the OP's question I believe that the BA scuff plates with stainless inserts are one of the few BA bits that will bolt straight into the AU interior

Its a real shame, as i felt the AU actually had more room if using the BA seats... I felt as there was simply to much dash size in the BA, so my knee's got to close to it.. but the AU is better for that reason... But i like the look of the ICC on in the BA XR over my AUI Forte'.

that's exactly what i'm talking about - the gear seletor is in a much better position in BA because of it - doesn't make alot of difference in an auto...but i'm sure it made a difference in the manual

Ok.. reviving this thread... due to me thinking about it all over again...

What i'm thinking is using the BA Dash and centre console, but none of the electrics... still keep the AU Momo wheel (for the cruise control), my own fixed screen tv and head unit... adapting the ICC controls to the AU components (unsure how just yet)... and somehow adapting the BA XR cluster to the AU wiring (???)... also adapting the door skins and colour coding accordingly... BUT i still want my AU seats (find them alot more comfortable)...

YES... I am mad!
