Default new au fairy

got my self a new 01 au ii fairmont from pickels auction for $7300, the car is immac apart from a couple things, just 1 question when doing a burnout both wheels spin so i thought it had a lsd, but car ratio fells different to a 3.45 more like a 3.08(judging from gear changes at speeds), does any one know what ratio the lsdz came with???
cheers

Look at the tag on the diff it should tell you if you have a lsd or not plus what ratio if fitted.

The climate control display is a common issue and the most common way of fixing is to replace, but if youre not under warranty it costs around $800 for the new MDC unit. If its not covered by any warranty there is a guy in Vic who repairs them.

Is it a Ghia? Standard Fairmont's are live axle, not IRS.

Theres a guy on Ebay who does recon units on an exchange basis for the cliemate control display. Around $150. Check Ebay under AU falcon, climate or fairmont. Can't remember which.

Is ther display just dull or are there segments or bars missing from the numbers displayed?

If it is just dull it may have a blown bulb or two.

It costs around $60 to fix mate - Liquidxtal the guy is known as, he has ads on ebay too...

He replaced the bulbs in mine whilst fixing the "dropped segments" issue too for an extra 10 bucks or so.

I thought my fairmont was slower than my EL I had previously... now I just think it feels slower due to the comfy suspension
