Question 91 Laser won't start -no spark!

Hi there, this is my 1st post on this forum: My 1991 Laser won't start. There's plenty of fuel. It's stopped the day before but we got it going again somehow. It only stopped when idling. Now it's stopped for good. There's no spark. Could it be the coil? Where there's normally a condensor there's a black chip. Any ideas? thanx

Try the module on the electronic ignition.

Sorry, I'm not so good with mechanics - what's the "module"? Is that the little black chip on the side of the distributor?

welcome to the forums

the black chip outside of the dissy is called an exciter

the module is inside the dissy below the rotor

shop around for the replacements from an auto electrician or pay ford price $$$
