I think it's dead as the tank is full and showing empty. any ideas on how to replace an au 99 sedan fuel sender unit. to be honest i havent checked the fuse, but i suspect its on the same as the instruments which are all working.

lift up the boot mat and un do the plate above the tank. see if the wires are connected, you can check the connector wit a multi meter and see which one is the fuel pump and which one is the fuel guage, earth out the fuel guage one and the dash guage will read full if the guage is working ok then it is your sender. first before you pull it out get a "O" ring and a sender and have over 1/2 a tank of fuel in the tank to hold the bottom of the tank down far enough to refit the sender. cheers..

Easy as. 2 plastic grommets covering screws at top of dash cluster.
Remove them then the screws behind them and the cluster just slides out. Just a matter of unplugging the looms in the back and it's out. 5 Min job tops. |

my ute has fuel sender probs. after driving a few kms it works its self out and reads full again. kinda use to it now.
oneday ill replace it lmao.
