Default Nc fairlane cruise control

Hello my son has a nc fairlane recently I changed the rear boot taillight assembly and from that time on the cruise control will not set at the desired speed and it continues to climb at a rapid rate.

I have done the following to try and rectify the problem with no result.

All brake lights are working
Changed the vacumn pump and the canister
Traced all the wiring with no faults
Changed steering wheel switch

I am really at wits end can anybody help me please??
