Mick, is this still running? I'd be interested in getting it fitted by you guys and a service at the same time.

Wish I had more $....oh well will just have to wait. What is the best oil to use? Im going to get on of these heat exchangers put on and a service done at the same time. I got quoted around $800 to service with genuine oil, does that sound normal?

If we serviced and the car had a plastic pan. Which is the dearest option and we used genuine oil, we would charge $450

Is that price for a full service (i.e. flush)on the transmission and genuine oil supplied? Just bought 20L genuine oil at discounted rate from Motospecs. Just waiting for delivery for heat exchanger and then I have all my parts ready. I will call to book in car when I get some time off.

we can flush but it is not included in that price, that price is almost half of what some shops are doing it for

Thanks, just placed the order. The trans shouldn't need a service, it's only done 20,000 since it was replaced due to the milkshake. Was hoping to get the PWR installed and a general service (log book) on the car at the same time. Thanks again.

Yeah i was quoted $770 for the ZF service in Sydney (flush and genuine ZF oil).

I plan on getting the ZF done at the same time the PWR is fitted.

I hope mine turns up soon, I'm eagerly awaiting

I just booked my car in at local Ford Dealer for 105,000k service
When I asked about trans service he told me they don't service them as they are built for life (300,000k) WTF
When I asked about heat exchanger and if they could tell if its on the way out or not he said can't tell but they could change it if I wanted to but its hard for them to justify doing so

They can change it at your own cost, not under warranty.

Dropped my fluid at 60000km it was fairly black, would have been interesting to have the fluid tested.

Yeah he did say that
But like I said to him some have been known to let go at 5,000k so why would I put a new Ford one in
Thinking about it now would they cover the transmission also if the new one let go?

In warranty period IMO I wouldnt bother replacing the Heat exchanger even with a replacement ford. If the unit fails they replace the trans so no need to buy one as insurance. And if you fit a PWR one to a vehicle and it was to fail they would void the claim. However there have been 0 PWR failures so far.

I still haven't found any evidence of people getting transmissions replaced with the extended used car warranty.
I myself have the Essentials+ which is good for a $3000 repair, but I'm thinking a milkshake will be more costly than that, so I'm better off installing a PWR prematurely.

Car is still 100% stock except for new air filter, but I think I'm gonna go for some durability mods instead:
ZF full service
Heat exchanger
IC piping kit

Do the pwr or furious kits come with a thermostat?
Are there kits for XR6T's / F6's?

You need to be specific. The heat exchanger doesn't require a thermostat. It works exactly the same as the OEM unit.

You're looking at thermostats when talking about air coolers / radiators that are mounted up in front of the intercooler or in a wheel arch.
