Top choice Timmeh. And knowing your standards, you'll do a superb job on the project. Plus another Zetec E engine back into the fold!!! Yehhh!!

hahaha. congrats mate. it is exactly the same as the car i had my accident in. keep an eye out for an English Fast FDord magazine., they have lots of tuners and details in there. i am pretty sure you can buy ST24 replica bodykits from the UK. i am very interestd in teh supercharger route. i have got tyhe bug with my new car and want to modify it. lowering the things is a good start, and 17's fill the arches nicely. love your choice of wheels except for one thing...i wanted those!!!

Ah, I have been on the UK Mondeo forums and 17s just are too small, has to be 18s rofl. OZ Racing ones are just too costly though. Lowering is a must, they have the ride height a LandCruiser would be proud of.

I definitely do not want an ST bodykit, I'm actually talking to a team now about a genuine Super Tourer bodykit but I fear the cost of it, but we'll see anyhow.

I hope this car remains accident free!

Looks like it's got massive potential and I really look forward to following the progress until the finished results. Looks like we'll be making a few trips to the racetrack again. Well done Tim.

Timmeh, any reason for the Jackson Racing Supercharger (Ford Racing) rather than the Powerworks??

Thanks Mark, not only for the photos but the wheels and the massive help cleaning the thing after its trip from Melbourne.

The trip went well. I flew down on Jetstar to Melbourne on the Tuesday night ($79 airfare), where Gary (XR_Strider_GuY) picked me up from the airport in his beautiful XR8. We went over to Richmond and after some confusion in the narrow tiny streets, finally found the car and did the cash deal thing.

We went back to Gary's place and after Gary did a Jeremy Clarkson on my car, I crashed the night there.

The next morning I left Melbourne at 4.30am for Sydney. My aim was to be in Sydney by early afternoon to get the car ready for WSID that night, as I was passing through Sydney on my way home to Newcastle.

I did not stop from leaving Melbourne to arriving in Sydney, 9 hours straight, 900km, 52 litres of fuel, which I estimate to be 5.78L / 100km on the freeway. Fifth gear is just so tall, the engine is not working at all at 110kmh. I didn't need to stop for food, toilet, or fuel, so I did the whole trip in one hit, and the car was fine. The fuel light had just come on.

Mark helped me wash the car after we fitted his old 16 inch Cougar rims to the Mondeo that I bought from him. They look awesome until I can afford a set of 18s, so thanks Mark! The car needs a good paint doctor / claybar / polish / wax to bring out the depth of colour and shine, and remove all the swirls and marks on the clear coat, but otherwise scrubbed up well.

WSID was a disaster, but only because I didn't get to run the car thanks to their incompetence, but that's another story.

Anyhow, really happy with the car. I didn't know the 00 model got the Zetec black top engine ( as opposed to the previous generation silver tops found in all other Mondeos), and it's HEAPS more smooth than my Focus engine. The computer is far less intrusive, I assume that has alot to do with the emission controls. I just love the engine, so do my friends at work that have driven the car. It's just so smooth and loves to rev!

I'll give a more detailed report on the car soon with more photos, but thanks for putting some up now Mark.

Thanks for all the positive comments, it will be at a Eurofordclub meet near you soon!
