Default Any VF performance figures out there yet?

Because i have my own real world experience against the very first vf I've seen. A black Ssv sedan at low speeds coming off a 2 lane roundabout we both booted it for a little bit......he was an auto aswell and chirped twice.....but was almost a fullcar length behind before we both backed off. I was very surprised ......thought they were lighter faster and better grip...amount other things.
Anyway. Anyone seen how fast these new Vfs really are.

Spent an hour as a passenger in a VF SSV Redline on Thursday.

Definitely not as quick as a g6et...that's for sure

However, I really liked the trim and dashboard.

Yeah pretty well covered in other threads. It holds no weight other than a advert for HSV and another review hanging **** on Ford so the HSV is better by default. No mention of the HSV being better on its own merits. The drag video also shows the GT braking and then the video pauses to give the impression that the GTS crosses the line miles in front.

Here is a 340kw R8 on the dyno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIeibllatZg

There are few videos of SS's being tuned but dont give the base figure.

I thought this too going by the pics, but saw one in the flesh last night. Was a SS in an orange colour (similar to octane) with black trim pieces, black wheels and stripes with a little flag (similar to the XR50 stripes) and it actually looked pretty mean. In saying that it shared a few similarities (colour and stripes) of ford so maybe that's why it looked good ;)

I put my xrt up against my bosses vf ssv and he being a cocky holden bloke thought he had it in the bag cause it was the latest model out. I beat him fair and square by car and a half length and I dont think there any quicker then the ve just got more gadgets that about it.

Holden is still running the same 270/260 kw V8 and 210kw v6. The only difference besides the tech over the VE would be 50kg missing from using some aluminum pannels.

HSV is the only one that has increased its performance figures

You would of thought that they would of thrown an extra 20kws out of them just to make the performance that little bit more better.

P.s. I think they have been hit with the ugly stick as well

Thanks...so its not the Aussie muscle car king yet then......it's still slower then a GT rspec. And if you apply the logic of price that they do in that video......why wouldn't you thumbs up a GT 335 or Rspec for even less.
And what on earth was wrong with the conditions at the track in the video......the guy says they could've been better hence faster times........huh.looked PERFECT conditions.

Anyway. Anyone seen how fast these new Vfs really are.

They are about 200-205kw at the wheels, 270kw/550Nm at the flywheel (claimed).

Does just under if not exactly 6 seconds 0-100km/h.

Same as the VE SS, just a tad slower than a stock XR6T.

Of course the GTS is the aussie muscle car king, have you looked at the specs? MRC suspension, massive brakes, torque vectoring diff, oil coolers etc make it most complete performance car made in Australia period.

The only comparison that I have seen between the two was in wet conditions and the GTS spanked the R Spec by over half a second on the 1/4 mile

Please explain how I am lying? Im just stating the times that were recorded in the comparison between the two.

12.7 v 13.4 is a pretty big difference imo. It would be closer no doubt if the conditions weren't so crap though but on the occasion the R Spec got spanked

Well for starters the last article above is a review of the new gts and the best they got was 4.6 and 12.6 . We all know the Gt rspec does 4.4-5 secs 0-100. And every guy you talk to here in a regular Gt335 beats 12.6......with anything from as low as 12.3-5.
So correct me if im wrong.......but a car with all that power......sophistication grip and weightloss, should be punching far better numbers then this.
As my thread hints at.....maybe this is why it's takin soooooo long for any real numbers to come out.
And before u make excuses ......that video shows a very rubbered track and a coolish lookin day.
The muscle king is the fastest......not the comfiest

You still dont get it, just because a car can go fast in a straight line doesn't make it the muscle car king of aussie performance cars

Members on here running faster times than motoring journos doesn't surprise me one bit. I'm yet to see a journo run a 12.3 in GT R Spec and I wouldn't be surprised that once the public get their hands on the new GTS that someone runs faster than 12.6.

And even if the GTS ends up only running the same time down the 1/4 as the R Spec its still the best overall aussie performance car, put the two around a track and I would guess it wouldn't even be close

Journos in nz ran the fastest times for the rspec. 12.3
But you don't get it either,......by your logic....back in the 70s the Gt was king because it was faster. But if the Holden gts came with heated seats and sticky tyres...I spose you'd say that was the muscle king back then.
Another thing....you've been hiding under a rock if you don't know hsv claimed times r never met by customers....but on the flip side.....Ford customers consistently better if not match times. So if your not questioning why there are no blistering times yet by the car thats been media blasted as the greatest and most powerfull thing since Adam n eve....then I question your understanding that these cars meet on the street with occasional blasts around the road......not the track
The thing with the Rspec is,it's launch control works...so 4.5 could be expected almost everytime . So for 100k, this supercars isn't impressing performance wise the way it should. Yet...im hoping

Any links to said article with journos running a 12.3 I must have missed it. I think you're still missing the point i'm trying to make, the GTS was not designed to be a one trick pony that goes fast in a straight line it was designed to be the best local all round performance car hence the brakes, suspension, diff, oil cooling and the 93k price tag.

I still think the GTS will run a quicker time than a 12.6 seeing that the ZL1 camaro's are running low 12's high 11's with the same driveline and same weight but like I said even it doesn't it's still the best all round, most complete performance car ever made in this county.
