Default Engine swap, advice needed

I have purchased a WP with a stuffed engine (cooked), this car is a manuel, the doner car is a WQ auto, my question is can I replace the engine in the WP with the WQ engine, keeping the WP a manuel, are there any differences between the two engines, that will prevent me from doing this? cheers.
