Moved from Rooty Hill a few months ago and could always tell on a clear day what was racing on the weekend. Also loved the 5 seconds of blat from the Top Fuelers.

Use to live over there for a bit at Rooty Hill Rd South area ... next to M7.

Funnily enough ... I was up there a little while ago ... and was literally a stone's throw from it ... and didn't realise it was there .... so it is right behind the Indoor Sport centre there.

I would have gone for a wander to have a look ... there was a good thread a little while back with recent photos of Catalina Park posted in here.

I drove through the "back roads" out around Box Hill recently ... damn it has changed all the way through there ... now from Rouse Hill through to Schofields has changed dramatically.

I used to do the Cattai Ridge Rd and others out that way as a backway home from Hornsby when I used to do courier work .... was the quicker way to home in the Hawkesbury back in the day .... Still is really.

Small stuff I know but does anyone know what happened to the model car race tracks and aero club that used to be at Luddenham, Sydney.

Probably another LEGOLand suburb by now.

Yeah .... they are open regularly ... I want to go have a look (its literally down the road from the my place)

Recently there was the Raceway opened behind them as well ... primarily for Go-Karts ... but they have Motorsport events there as well.

Found this when reading about Ron Thorpe's '64 AC Cobra

Caversham Airfield Circuit Perth WA.......

June 7th Caversham 6 hour, 2nd to the 250 LM ferrari of Spencer Martin and David McKay. Although Ron entered the race with his wife Molly down as the co-driver, as required by the rules, but he drove the entire 6 hours solo, massive effort that he did each year he ran there. Caversham is in Western Australia, Ron and Ann would load the Cobra in his Austin 3 ton Cobra transporter (see picture below) and drive 4300 kilometres (2600 Miles) on mostly rough and unsealed roads there and back for this race each year. It took the little truck, its passenger and the well shaken Thorp, one week to get there. then he drove the 6 hour, hopped in and drove it all back home.... Legend.
