Default Just got my mondeo

It's a 2013 Ecoboost and it's running great so far. I couldn't find it anywhere else on the forum but which power steering fluid is correct?
I bought LDAS but it's green. While the steering fluid in there right now is red. Ford specifies M2C204-A in my manual but it doesn't seem to be correct. Anyone know whats going on and which fluid I should be using instead?

I'm sure. I've changed power steering fluid a dozen times before. Cap says power steering fluid and the fluid inside is red. Even though my manual specifies the green version. Which is what's confusing me.

Power Steering Fluid needs to be topped up with Ford Spec WSS-M2C204-A / Pentosin CHF 11S as per owners manual.

Here is a link to Pentosin Australia; http://liquidintelligence.com.au/pen...luid-australia

Thanks for the help! I have absolutely no idea how that's happened since the car has only been serviced at Ford exclusively since new. But I'll definitely change it if so.

1 Red fluid is OK

2 Red fluid is not OK

3 Red fluid is OK if the fluid is OK

4 Green fluid is OK

5 Green fluid is not OK

6 Green fluid is OK if the fluid is OK

You can't decide unless you know the fluid is OK,
red or green. Maybe all OK fluids are green?
Not all green fluids are OK etc

Suggest you try to find out what fluid was used.
My 2011s always had green fluid. Penrite LDAS, so green fluid
is OK for that year model, given steering is fine.

I just took a sample of the fluid. It's actually dark green. Somehow it just ended up looking dark red in the reservoir. I feel absolutely retarded. Thanks for everyone's help though! Great start to my mondeo ownership.

So if you have some LDAS, just swap it out now!

Changed the fluid in the reservoir. That's good enough for now. Thanks for the help!

G'day , Welcome to the best Ford Forum by far. If you can't get help , sometimes a bit of a jibe , have a lot of fun then you're not on here.
Must admit I know bugger all about Mondeo , a little bit about many Falcons , a bit more than that about AU's and learning more and more about FG's these days thanks to AFF.
I hope Mondeo , Focus too and even Fiesta eventually make inroads into the passenger car market here in Oz because not all of us want a bloody SUV that are already way too prevalent for my liking. A good ol' sedan/hatch with a decent boot or station wagon like Mondeo is pretty cool.
Re your p/s fluid I'd agree to make sure it's absolutely up to spec . no matter what. You'd better add a picture or two of the new wheels ..Kinda expected..
Cheers Rod..

Some info here on bleeding power steering:

http://workshop-manuals.com/ford/mon...stem_bleeding/

For myself I use a syringe to empty fluid from the reservoir if it looks very dark and fill with fresh fluid.
Aim is to keep the colour a respectable shade of green.

DIY on steering fluid change might be an idea. Not sure at present how I would change it completely.

There's your reason. Just like oils ain't oils, Ford dealers ain't Ford dealers.

What is the recommended interval for PS fluid? I've never given it a thought.

I used to regularly change it on my VP Commodore but that was only because I had to put a kit through the pump every 30,000km or so..... :-)
