Caprice PPV sales for January 2012........ 92
Caprice PPV sales for 2011 .......880

Deveraux is insane, GM have dropped PPV to $26,000 and still no takers.

Dodge Charger V6 is being sold for around $18,500
Charger V8 Hemi and defunct Crown Victoria $23,000
AWD Taurus PI and PI Ute will be around $23,000,
Ecoboost AWD Taurus PI will be around $25,000,
Taurus PI FWD will be approx $2,000 less.

A RWD Caprice can never match the wet weather and snow performance of an AWD Taurus
and the Ecoboost AWD Taurus is just that much better at everything...

Police want to reuse their CV police gear and computers, not buy new equipment from GM.

Deveraux cannot afford to write off Caprice PPV, it will ruin Holden's figures...
They have lost without a shot being fired from Ford yet...

He needs to put down the crack pipe. They won't even sell 2000 a year yet this clown is talking it up like they have the potential to sell 10,000.

Talk about living in a world of denial.

Have to laugh at Holden thinking they could sell 17,500 a year and not even selling 2000. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL.

When does the Ford interceptor go on sale?

Its a shame the commodore hasn't taken off in USA, it would have been a boost to our local industry. The VE was holdens biggest gamble since the original VB was released, 1 billion spent on a car that should have put the world on notice....

Bad timing, mismanagment and bad luck ruined it.

I don't see for exporting the falcon after all that happened with the commodore.

LOL, Ford didn't see a viable export opportunity BEFORE that happened...

OK, I was looking at the Ford Police Website http://www.ford.com/fordpoliceinterc...#/models/sedan
and the New 2013 cop car has 280hp.

WOW. Thats an amazing 280 hp = 208.795964 kilowatts. The plain Jane falcon has 195kw. Ford should mod the Falcon or variant and pump them over there to the US. A falcon still only costs around $16-18K to make.

Why don't they start selling Caprice PPV's to the local market as a povo spec performance car?

You know there is an Ecoboost version as well with 365hp (270 odd kw)?

The Crown Victoria only had 250hp with its V8. That didn't seem to worry them.

Don't be so silly, this would require common sense

Holden is going to take another huge bath on US exports.

Dodge Charger V6 is being sold on state plan for $18,500 and the hemi V8 for $23,000.
There is no way an import from our part of the world can compete with those prices...

The lack of uptake on PPV tells us GM is not as in touch with police departments as they make out.

Ford has a winning package in the two new Police Interceptors, they are well researched and know their market.

Crown Victoria was forward sold as far as possible with Police departments taking as many as they could,
that's the real reason why police sales are low, Ford stole the market with a huge pull forward of sales.
They can sit on that for about six months until the 2013 Police Intereptor is ready to go.

Ford shut down a whole production line and replaced the Crown victoria with an upgraded Taurus Explorer combo,
regardless of whether they retain most of their police sales or not, Ford has already saved a bunch by not spending
money updating the Crown Victoria and by channeling sales to and existing product.

Speculation among Ford fans in this hemisphere is that the Taurus-based Police Interceptor will bankrupt Ford, and the Caprice PPV will make crime obsolete.

I say we wait and see what sells.

Have you guys heard of the Carbon Motors E7?

The Caprice PPV is to US police sales what the GM Holden Adventra was to Ford Territory sales. An EPIC fail.

The Adventra was a half baked, jacked up wagon that sold 1/12th of the Territory volume.

The Caprice PPV is a half baked, pov pack expensive vehicle that has captured 880 sales in a market of 75,000... Really, it is a shame for the Aussie industry that the numbers don't add up. It is also a shame to see a really nice vehicle be turned into the PPV too. But, but most of all it just demonstrates the stupidity and arrogance that GM and GM Holden have.
