If it is the same as the LR should be on the passenger side just under the wipers. You have unclip it. Make sure you replace it properly or else water leaks and you get a smelly cabin and wet passenger floor(know by experiance)

I want to know where it is also. Just did the first 15k major service. They charge for the pollen filter replacement. Some dealers seem to think owners wouldn't care or have a clue. I want to make sure I'm getting what I'm paying.

Surely there has to be an easier way, NO WAY would a ford service attendant go through that much effort to do something on the car.

btw lol at the garden hose attacgment in your center console lol.

Thanks 20Focus05. Just done first 15k service. The pollen filter wasn't replaced but I now know where it is so I can check that they've done the job.

My previous car, Astra 2001 had a pollen filter changed and I was charged for it. When I checked that it was't I blasted the service centre and was refunded the entire service fee. To keep my mouth shut I suppose.

I suggest everybody check this item when it's listed on the service report.

Red face

Recently, my LX went in for its 15k service. In the overpriced quote (upon which I elaborate upon in a new thread), was $80 for a new pollen filter (actually called a odour filter Part Num 4M5J19G244AA). Remembering reading this thread & about to go to South Africa on holiday where I was sure I could obtain it cheaper, I declined its replacement. Sure as, the quote there was for ZAR 176.13 VAT incl ie $34.50 each. A $45 difference. Needless to say, I bought two! All the stock the dealer had at the time.

Back in Adelaide, I begin the replacement procedure. I’d like to add a couple of more expletives to line 6 of 20focus05’s explanation. The whole job is a bit of a bugger. Based on my experience, I recommend you disconnect the large green plug on top & the orange one on the bottom. Just pull up on the black cap & the plug comes loose. Without removing these, I just did not have enough play for me to drop the fuse box low enough to get the filter in. Make sure you know your radio security code as you will have to input it upon connecting everything up again. Which is the situation I now find myself in. The dealer originally said that the code would be the 4 digit one that came with the spare keys, but it does not work. Its off to the dealer tomorrow.

By the way, when I finally prised off the airbox panel, there was no filter there to replace!! It had never been put in in the first place. Idiots.
20Focus05, I assume the airflow arrow points towards the passenger compartment? Please don’t tell me its got to face the other way & I have to redo the blooming thing again! :

Sorry to bring back an old thread from the dead, but found this recently:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POLLEN-CARBON-...item5ad5f2c86a

Cost was £11.02 + £9.00 shipping (came to AU$36.00). Ordered on 15th Jan, received filter today (from UK). Quality seems pretty good too. Also a little cheaper than what Zxdan was quoted by a dealer (AU$80).

Ebay shop (Doctor Car Parts) seem to have a few pieces for LR and LS/LT/LV Foci.

Shouldn't this be on the Focus forum, not Mondeo?

It is.

The same filter also fits 2.5L, but unsure if XR5 Focus and Mondeo both use same A/C design.

I won't bother wasting my time here next time.

Mondeo and focus are completely different, they share nothing apart from the engine. And even that is pretty different.
