If someone actually bid for it, would he have to supply a Mustang GT? Wonder if he'll take a trade in lol.

That's funny.

The ad states it's a 5 speed manual yet the pics clearly show it's an auto.

What a nut, have you contacted Carpoint yet to have it removed from their site?

Cheers,

There was a thread on here about bad neigbours. They linked out to another thread on another forum which was about how to get your neighbours back. One prank was to advertise their car really really cheap in every possibly publication being sure to use there phone number. i.e. the p#ss the neighbour off with the flood of phone calls. But they didn't use your number hey.

Maybe they used your car because it looks good and the dude with the number mentioned on the add has disconnected there phone because of the thousands of phone calls. But maybe I'm just delusional...

Hi 4barrel

I saw that thread too a while ago. I've contacted Telstra and they said that number has not been in service for at least a month.

Now here is the scary bit.

I've been trying to contact Carpoint on their 1300 number and its constantly engaged. I've sent them an e-mail with the 'contact me urgently' and no reply as yet.

I'd really like a 'please explain' from Car point. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

My concern now is I hope no one is going to get burnt by this.

Yeah, and 2004 most powerful ba gt.

The wording came from a press release on the web site www.gtmovie.com I think.

do you have a stainless steel key fob like the one hanging from the ignition in this photo???

LOL, check out the description:

The Ford Performance Vehicle GT-P is not an ordinary, run-of-the-mill car; it is the pride of the Ford Performance Vehicles fleet - the hero car of the Ford Australia range. Starting life as a GTP, with the Boss 290 powerplant and grand touring creature comforts, was a good start for the Nitro-GT. However, the makers of The Chase is On did not need a hero car for the movie, they needed a superhero. Australia's No.1 Ford Enhancement Specialist, Rob Herrod, was called in with a simple brief - unleash the animal that lurks beneath that svelte exterior all in a package that would be equally comfortable in peak-hour traffic as it would be on the race-track. Starting with approximately 216rwkW's, the aim was to enhance the vehicles performance without placing deterimental stress on the factory drive-train and deliver a gutteral V8-roar that would reverberate through history all the way back to the halcyon days of the 'Phase 3' XY-GTHO. A plan of attack was devised - let the beast breathe. A cold-air induction system, BMC Hi-flow air-filter and Herrod Helix Spacer would allow the Boss to gulp volumes of fresh, cool air, whilst spend gases are evacuated via tuned-length headers, hi-flow catalytic converters, and mandrel-bent exhaust system to ensure maximum flow, torque, power and fuel economy. All this mated to the ultimate Boss tuning device - the Herrod Stealth Computer Module, to maximise fuel-burn characteristics, idle-control, Automatic shift-patterns and raise the factory redline from 5,900 to a safe 6,300 RPM, all of which delivers in excess of 270 rwkW's. The Nitro-GT: Executive-Express by day, track-stalker by night. The car has been featured in 3 Films, "The Chase is On", "RUSH" and "Sophie Costa's Clouds of Winter". The Chase is On has sold thousands of copies around the world, and also screened at various film fesivals and boradcast nation wide Channel 9s 'Car Show'. * Won 'Most powerful GT BA' in the Ford vs Holden show 2003

Ok, the plot thickens.

I've checked out my key ring and I dont have a tag on like that.

I think they are my spare keys . . . . which are missing!!!

I'll keep looking to see if I can locate the spares.

Seller contacted. Secondary email address and my old mobile number (can still check voicemails) have been included.

---

"Gday mate, I'm definately interested in the car as $18,500 is very cheap, even for just a factory GT-P without the extra bits this one sports. How come it's so cheap, though? Has it been damaged in some way? Wondering if I might be able to come and check it out so I know what I might be getting myself into. Get back to me as soon as you can, please, as I'd hate to lose this bargain to anyone else.

Thanks mate,
Woz"

Now, we play the waiting game.
