Default Timing Tensioner Leak - I'm Still Confused???

I'm confused about how to fix the timing tensioner leak in an AU,
Is it just a case of removing the P/S pump and brackets and tightening the tensioner bolt up without removing anything else and putting the P/S pump back on and done?

I have already done the front crank seal so it's not that, and I can see the oil stains on the block under the P/S Pump

Yes and no
I have done a how to in my build section
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...1238536&page=7

BUT be careful. If you don't want the hassle of re-setting the tensioner, get some gasket goo and only loosen it. Clean and put on the gasket goo and re seal. When I undid mine the centre bolt wasn't leaking just the larger sleeve.

Hope this helps

So back it off, wipe it with a rag, gasket goo and tighten back up?

So go just one or two turns back, gasket goo or thread tape then tighten up?

Dont need to reset timing?

So long as you don't unscrew it to much. So long as you can get goo or tape in to resell. Three would be fine. I am assuming that the 'bolt' has not undone.

Beats me. I saw an AU with the head of at Pick and Pay less at blacktown. I played with the tensioner and watched it work. Looking at the chain its the logical place to have it. I guess they gave up on putting the power steering mount somewhere else.

Can't really over tighten it. If you are using the blot to retighten then just hard otherwise yuo will unlock/move the seal on the bolt.
The goo will squish out ofcourse, just run your finger around to help the seal.
