Having Hard Time Installing Plastic Chrome In The Rear And Front Windscrean For Capri

as you all now i have a ford capri 1972 mod .iam having great dificalty installing the plastic chrome that goes into the rubber for the front and rear screan
can anyone give me some pointers please to make it easyer

Assume you have the screen and rubber already fitted to body.

Pick a ward day so hat the chrome strip is more flexible. Sitting it in the sun for 30mins beforehad wuold help greatly. If not flexible, then you risk snapping it...and then it is too short. Doh!

Start at a bottom corner , put one side of strip into slot for approx 30-40mm, and I used a nice flat blade screwdriver in a rolling/turning motion (coming over the top of the strip at right angles into the target side groove) to gently ease the other side lip of the filler groove over the plastic strip. Flat blade provides more strip lift than a Phillps head, but has sharper edges.
And just work your way around. On my Capri you had a join at the bottom corners (90deg bend). Pig of a job (30mins+), having taken only 15mins to fit the whole windscreen. And then you can fit your nice shiny corner filler pieces.

You can buy nice profiled wire loop thingies to help this process along, but you can do it without them.

DO NOT PUSH TOO HARD OR RUSH THIS JOB. Undesirable results may occur e.g. torn rubbers, scratched paint, broken/scratched glass (GASP!!), stabbed operator.

And I'm sure others have alternate tried-and-true methods.
