Default Painting an ICC?

Does anyone here know if the ICC can be stripped down so that just the facia can be painted? I assume that it can, but are there any do's or don'ts? I am aware of the LCD failing if the unit is turned upside down, but is that the only trap?

I wish to paint the crappy plastic centre console peices and ICC the same colour as the ute (black) and airbrush over the top just to dress up the interior (I HATE THE COLOUR OF THE ICC )

Any help is appreciated.

Pete

If you want a black one contact Fadi at Sponsor ASL - $100.00 you could then add air brushing if you wanted. The best part is they have all of the factory writing on them such as "Premium Sound" etc. Hope this helps.

Yep can be done, as long as you get the prep right (i.e. prime it etc) it'll come up really well. Ive seen a few airbrushed examples and they look great.

yes it can we had ours modi coated.

Just becareful not to tilt it too much as this can damage it.

That is keep it upright all the time while you are working on it.

I got a silver one from AWC but I noticed when changing it that they left a few steps out of the instructions.

You are lucky, they didnt sent me instructions. When i bought mine it just came by itself in a box, with a brochure. I can't complain though, it wasnt to hard to work it out for myself, and ASL's customer service is really good.

Also be careful, those car deodorisers (liquid type) will strip the paint off the icc facia if they leak. My shiny new silver facia has an attractive grey streak on it

Pretty sure all the dial zone volume knobs are all the same colour.

It definately can be swapped but, whether it needs the ICC cover off or not I can't remember... Maybe send a message to ASL in the forum sponsors section? They'd know.
